  • Life in Hollywood No. 7 (1927)

    ** (out of 4)

This seventh film in the series is without a doubt the cheapest of the bunch as a bunch of celebrities show up to a club and the camera is there to capture them walking up a drive. The celebrities on hand include Aileen Pringle, Dorothy Mackail, Joseph Jackson, Ethel Shannon, Claire Windsor, Bert Iytell, Lionel Belmore, Herbert Rawlinson, Edward Connelly, Ralph Lewis, Forrest Stanley, Ruth Roland, Marguerite Livingston, Elinor Glyn, Philo McCullough, Robert Z. Leonard, Gertrude Olmstead, Jack Mulhall, Madge Bellamy, Dale Fuller, Bebe Daniels, Priscilla Dean, Agnes Ayers and Conrad Nagel.

As you can tell, the majority of those names aren't going to be remembered today and in fact several really weren't all that "big" back in 1927. The fact that they are unknown today is a reason to watch this four minute short because there's simply not too much footage of them, which makes this short worth watching. The material is all rather cheap and was probably filmed in one day but it's worth watching to film buffs.
