  • Honestly it wasn't too bad. The angles in the shots were good. The story had a basis but it wasn't even close to flushed out. The scares were predictable. But my GOD was the acting terrible. The script was like D tier at best. Every character felt stiff and lifeless. Every conversation felt weird. Every human interaction seemed forced. With practice and time it's possible for this studio and actors to make something good, but this isn't it.
  • I'm a fan of all kinds of movies, and I've watched -- and enjoyed! -- my fair share of bad movies. This was not a bad movie. In fact, it was not a movie at all. You see, in order or me to consider this a movie, something would have had to happen. I mean, like, anything. I kept waiting. There were signs throughout that it might turn into a movie. A couple of scenes seemed like they might be going somewhere interesting, and I thought -- OK, now maybe we have a story developing. But no, not really. Even the presence of certain basic sci-fi tropes -- spooky aliens and mysterious, unexplained phenomena -- couldn't push this thing into "movie" territory. If it was so-bad-it-was-good, that would have been one thing. But, sadly, it was just... lacking.

In the end, it feels like everyone was trying hard -- the acting wasn't awful, the fx weren't worth complaining about. But, my god, there just wasn't any kind of story here.

I'll give low-budget, amateur films a go if they have something to offer, but I'm beyond clear film and sound, and acceptable C. G. I.; this really doesn't offer anything. Maybe as other have said, the people responsible will improve with time, I don't know. If the plot and script are any indication though, they have a long way to go.

Again; as others said; the lines and interactions between people don't seem to be much based in reality. How old is the Thomas character supposed to be...7? 8? A pillow-fight with his sister? And while lost in the forest, after being attacked by monsters/aliens and seeing a huge U. F. O., with his sister lying injured...a stick fight with the main guy?

No-one is particularly fussed when the ranger disappears, nor do they make any attempt at all to find the (el-cheapo hand-held) camera guy and his girlfriend after they're dragged away from the camp-site.

After the remaining four are attacked again later and Geoff or Greg or whatever lead guy's name is, spears one of the beasts, they just all go back to sleep, no probs.

We get to see camera guy again one or two times, lost in the wilderness (alternative universe? We weren't given anything in the way of clues really.), but not his girlfriend, she doesn't rate?

I'm afraid they really need to up their game .

This movie is a clear example that anyone can make a film. This was so so so bad. It's tripe made for the sake of scamming people out of their money. When it releases on Prime for $1.99, I know its not a blockbuster. But I expect more than this. I cant think of a single compliment.
  • Wow, just what was this atrocity of a movie supposed to be?

First of all, the movie's cover/poster has the words "based on the true phenomenon" on it. True phenomenon? Dinosaurs with red eyes, huge bugs and spaceships? Sure, true phenomenon. Right...

Then there was the storyline. Wow. Are you kidding me? What were writers Tim Wade, Phillip Wade and Just B. Jordan thinking when they sat down to write the script and storyline for "Mount Adams"? It was just laughably ridiculous.

The acting in the movie was adequate for a movie such as this, and with taking the fact that the script was just god awful bad into consideration, then the actors and actresses weren't doing too shabby jobs actually. There weren't any familiar faces among the cast ensemble though.

Visually then I will actually say that "Mount Adams" wasn't bad. Sure, this wasn't top of the line Hollywood production CGI that will bedazzle you and blow you away. But the CGI effects and practical effects throughout the movie were actually fair enough.

However, the movie was just a swing and a miss in terms of being entertaining and enjoyable. And that was solely because of an inferior and downright stupid script and storyline.

My rating of "Mount Adams" lands on a generous three out of ten stars.

This is so bad, the acting is absolutely awful, I will say the drone scenes are beautiful but that is it. I just don't understand how you make a movie this terrible and actually release this garbage. Whomever did the casting needs a new job.

    Awful
Everyone has to start somewhere... yes... but you do a run , look back and amend as necessary or scrap it and start again. Sorry guys but this is awful in every way, from the padded coat as it was so cold whilst others having shorts on to such bad acting , bad sets, just bad everything, it's embarrassing. When you make a film like this, don't realise it until at least 30% of it is watchable.

    Warning: Spoilers
This is a starter film...I get that... I know how difficult it is to make a film... I study film. I will give it to them that they actually have a production here... most do not get this fare... That being said, this film is missing about half a solid hour. It feels incomplete because it is incomplete. For starters, took too long for the group in question to get to the mountain. Nobody goes hiking in dense forests and into the snowy heights with short shorts! I was in the military and we donned heavy, pocketed, pants that we bloused into sturdy hiking boots, long sleeves to keep the bugs off of your arms and legs. Nobody used bug repellent which would have added realism to the group. You do not wear glasses to bed, if you go camping in dense forests you have more than a letter-opener as a knife, you have survival rations, you have a GUN! And a flare gun. You also have a means to communicate with the outside world with today's tech... (this could be destroyed by events but having one makes the group more plausible.) A park ranger is not going to sell out for $400. There is no real resolution to the story... certain injuries are explained away...and the director's "disappearance" is completely unresolved. (he is also an actor in the film) As the poster indicates there is a UFO...not a spoiler... It goes somewhere important in the film...which is not explored at all. I give them an A for effort as I know the headache of production...however, a day of deeper thought would have gone along way to cementing the credibility of the group. Rethink and retool the series of events leading up to and during their investigation...they spent more time on some punchy and sophomoric insults than the details...and we know what is said of "the details". Each conundrum must have a "solid" resolution...not simply batting an eye lash at problems and eminent peril. The CGI is better than many direct to dvd or syfy channel fare...but a little less of the pixel created critters and more of what happened to the director's character would have made this far more interesting.

    Warning: Spoilers
A group of 6 totally unbelievable UFO-spotters climb a mountain where weird activities take place. They see a spaceship flying over and when they return to their base camp the guide is missing. That night two of them are served as breakfast for roaming dinosaurs who use some kind of time portal.

The next morning the survivors want to get back to the valley but for an incomprehensible reason they get lost. Climbing the mountain took them one afternoon, but descending will take them 3 days. Every night the dinos hunt them. Luckily they find a cabin that has armed guns and even some dynamite. They kill the dinosaurs. The end. Somewhere a lone survivor is looking for a plot.
  • Just 1 point for some parts of the musical score and the nice drone shots of a beautiful filming location, a place that's completely ruined by the whole cast and the lacking story of the Wade brothers. Unfortunately these Wade bros also claimed leading roles in Mount Adams; wrong decision! Even 1st years students at a film academy will do this better and with PASSION because this cast is too poor for any description. One advise: focus on making docu's of mother earth and never ever try to make a movie! It was a real torture for me to finish this movie, hopefully Amazon Prime will ignore such a trash in future stock. I read that this movie is based on a previous short film of the Wade Bros in 2016. That should have been enough. Not like a series of Jurassic drama's...
  • I'm not usually a fan of monster movies, but I was intrigued by the story of Mount Adams and think the film makers did a pretty good job for being fairly new to movie making! And I've found myself interested in a bit more of the history of Mount Adams after watching this. A movie that can make you interested in learning a bit more has done its job! I'm surprised by many of the reviews and embarrassed for those who are just mean and rude. Personally, I appreciated this movie for being different than the vast majority that use violence, or sexuality, or non-stop action with very little else to create a storyline. The filmmakers clearly attempted to capture some beautiful scenes and use creativity with their project. It's a little quirky, but that makes it fun! There is obviously a lot of raw talent with those involved and room for growth in their skills, and I'm looking forward to seeing where the cast and filmmakers go after this. I fully expect to see a few of them going on to be in some impressive roles or make some impressive movies. I, for one, will be watching to see!

Yes, this isn't a very good movie. But as an other reviewer mentioned, someone has to start somewhere.

The story is decent, and some camera shoots are really good. The actors did a decent job, some are better, some are just amateurs. So what? The movie isn't worth 10 stars, of course, but it's way better than 1 star.

    No !
Soundtrack drove me nuts. Turned it off an hour in....

Just read other comments. They set-up story lines that never resolved. Like the guy who disappears into the red light. The final 4 make it to a road. A road to where? If at the end of the film it said, "to be continued" I think I would of gave it a better score. Acting was horrible. The CGI was better than most low budget films. Also, you see a spaceship, and then you never find out what the purpose of it is. Who built the cabin in the woods? And, it says, based on a true phenomenon, ....what true phenomena? They needed to pull together ALL the story lines and give us a conclusion...instead of them finding a road...but a road to where?

This made me mad because it is a scam, a cash grab, a ripoff. It is marketed as a movie but it is NOT a movie. Just because a video file is 94 minutes long does not mean it is a movie. A movie at a minimum should have a cast, a story, and a beginning, a middle, and an end. This video has none of those things. It is a boring, pointless collection of random interactions between odd-looking disposable annoyances who utter words without actually saying anything.

Not worthy of any stars because it is not a movie. An hour and half of Ring doorbell security video is more a movie than this fraud.

    Zero stars.

    Warning: Spoilers
Glen (Tim Wade) and Lilly (Emily Sweet) are alien monster hunters who plan on spending three days on Mount Adams which had both alien and monster sightings. They go up with a camera crew and don't do much film shooting. The monsters (plot spoiler) come in 10 minutes from the end and look like something from a Polonia Brothers film. The acting was bad. Emily Sweet came across as a cartoonish Anna Faris. Edward Stiner needs to go back to non-speaking roles.

Guide: No swearing, sex, or nudity. Emily Sweet goes to sleep fully clothed still wearing a bra. Adult brother and sister have a pillow fight.
  • There are a lot of really nasty people leaving negative comments, which are not warranted. This is a starter movie; one where they are doing their best and it's not that bad. I have seen so much worse Just relax and be quiet.

The blonde girl I have seen in another movie where she played a psycho killer and she was pretty good.

Kids need to start some place folks. How awful do you need to be in your own life to shoot down starter efforts. Even the best movie makers all started here, so stop being dicks. THEY ARE LEARNING.

So because people here are being jerks, I am giving the movie top marks.

The only person who I really wanted to die was Thomas.
  • First off this movie was financed with credit cards over a 6 year period to make. It stars, written, directed, special effects, and music all created by the Wade Brothers. Don't put it in a category of big budget films. I very much a appreciate the ambition of the movie. They could have gone with very cheap found footage style, as many low budget horror films but they didn't. The special effect were better than many movies made by SyFy channel with much much bigger budgets. Yes there are some problems but look at the what they were able to do, and you will be impressed. The creatures provide a few pretty good jump scares, all created by Tim Wade. It's has a lot of humor in it provided by their younger brother as the assistant. So sit back and enjoy a pretty good little movie, flaws and all. Remember what they were able to Achieve what many movies can't do on a much much bigger budget. Congratulations.

A team of UFO investigators must fight for survival after they find themselves being hunted by monsters on the slopes of Mount Adams.

Director Phillip Wade relates the enjoyable story at a quick pace, takes time to develop the characters, maintains an admirably sincere tone throughout, makes good use of the lovely forest locations, and stages the monster attack scenes with aplomb. The solid acting by the capable cast helps a lot: Tim Wade as the likeable Glen Craven, Emily Sweet as the perky Lily Lantz, Matthew O'Donnell as the sarcastic Thomas, Phillip Wade as happy-go-lucky camera tech guy Blake, Allesondra Helwig as the spunky Kim, Greg James as rugged guide Bill Jefferson, and Edward Stiner as friendly old-timer Richard Croos. A cool little flick.

This is a well made thriller, very watchable, and good job by cast and crew. The slow build to the inevitable pay off is all done well, and music and photography is excellent. A group of explorers go on a forbidden mountain and chaos ensues. There are some plot points that fall off and disappear, but overall a very solid effort from a first time feature director. Wonder if they're considering a sequel.
  • I am currently watching Mount Adams and it is not a bad movie 45 minutes in. The acting is not that bad, and visually, it is well filmed. Okay, there was just some poor acting. I am looking forward to the action, none yet, and the movie is already enjoyable. Not to shabby! People should not judge so harshly and deter movie lovers from seeing something different, and underground. Small budget movies, particularly start ups, do deserve a chance. We have limited options now a days as it is.
  • I'm a big film watcher and like movies with this sort of storyline. Ok, the story was short of perfect and there was a lot missing but the base was there and as newcomers it wasn't that bad, it had me watching it to the somewhat premature ending but overall it was ok. This film missed some good opportunities to make it much better and I'm sure the writers will pickup on that and to be honest it's absolutely ripe for a big sequel that will, if written better, will make the first one more worth watching. A sequel could contain what happened to the guy that entered the portal he could return and the story can start from there maybe, the story ideas that could be portrayed here are endless. The only thing you would have to be aware of and that's it's close to another series that's being aired at the moment here in the UK and that's Primeval which is similar and could cause problems. So if written well it would work. Please go for a sequel.
  • A good blend of sci-fi, drama, with a dash of comedy.
