Kate Fields (Mamrie Hart) is turning 30 and life kinda sucks. Her long-time friends Evie (Grace Helbig) and Charlie (Hannah Hart) have their own difficulties. They find a letter from Kate's 16 year old self. She allows them to throw her a small and tasteful birthday party but...

This is a film featuring a bunch of YouTube personalities. I'm sure that it's great for their fans. For everybody else, this is like every other single gal comedy by a second tier comedy troupe. They are functional comedic actors. There is nothing here that's going to blow anybody's mind. It has a few harmless jokes and a general knowledge of every single gal tropes. The party needs to go more crazy, faster and harder. It runs out of steam by the midway point. Instead of taking off into a wild night, it gets dull.

I stumbled across this movie, saw Hannah Hart was in it, and thought I may as well give it a go. I wasn't expecting much, as a lot of the cast seems to be from YouTube, and within the first 5 minutes I was questioning whether to turn it off or not. It's pretty cliche, quite cringey at times, but the more I watched it the more comfortable I got, and honestly, it's not that bad. A lot of the actors have potential, I think, and I'd honestly love to see them in bigger productions. While the script, and maybe the pace, need a lot of work the chemistry between some of the actors flowed so well, I forgot I was watching a C grade (?) movie. Some of the punchlines really hit, others were just terrible, but there were a lot of small moments that made me feel like I was watching an 'A lister' comedy. Really wasn't too bad.

If you are a fan of specific youtubers and those who make cameos in this movie then you will probably have a great time, otherwise there really isn't much here.

The comedy is at most mildly amusing and most of the time it isn't even that. The writing comes across as disjointed and kind of lazy, like where people are with problem partners for seemingly no reason just so they can break up with them, that sort of thing. On top of this the story itself feels completely self-serving as we aren't really given a reason to care why any of the three mains should be happy, it's just presumed that they deserve to have the best lives and that we should care about them garnering some type of resolution of struggle.

Overall I imagine these people had a blast making this movie, but it really isn't for anyone outside of their fan base, so if that's not you then you probably shouldn't bother.

I have never seen any of the people in this movie before - and that's OK. I liked the actresses OK. But none of this movie was even the slightest bit believable. It opens with an over the top bad date to set the stage - kind of funny but really? Nothing in the movie is original - everything has been done before. Sad girl about turning 30, girl they hate from high school, cool guy from high school is old and fat now, and the boy she now likes is misunderstood when he leaves the party with the girl from high school they all hate - but really he is a good guy because he was just driving a drunk girl home and he had no interest in her. I didn't laugh that much and found it rather boring.

And Kate - the main girl - while I could see me liking her in other things I don't think she is a strong enough actress to carry a movie as the lead.

If you are in the mood for a "stupid" funny movie - then this is for you.
  • Dirty 30 is the typical comedy you watch just to have a nice evening of easy entertainment, nothing too fancy, just some quirky situations that lead to some funny scenes. Don't expect a complicated story, just enjoy the lighthearted comedy. The acting isn't bad at all for this kind of movie, all the characters add something funny to the comedy, to me the most funny one was Richard/Raven played by Adam Lustick but the rest did well as well. I'm sure there will be a ton of people that don't find it funny, but then again there are also a ton of people I wouldn't hang out with, so that evens it out. Dirty 30 is a good movie in its genre.
  • Writer and film star Mamrie Hart may have got her wish to "star" in her own film about a girl named Kate Fields who works as a dental hygenist and is turning 30 but she is still single and relies on her two besties for her social life.

This is supposed to be one of those "loser turns winner" camp/comedy/romance films where the high school loser(s) get together for a wild reunion at a rich and absent house owners mansion and for Kate Fields 30th birthday party. The scenario of a girl trying to find true love but keeps getting into bad relationships such as Kate's blind date with a loser guy named Raven who still lives with his parents, has been done a million times before, and now I can honestly say this is the one millionth PLUS ONE failure.

I did not laugh once. Writing and acting were below par. It reminded me of a film that was made in less than seven (7) days and for less than ten (10) grand.

    10 minus 7 equals a 3 out of 10 rating.

Well written and agreeable comedy in the familar style following the plight of a woman re-assessing her life and trying to deal with her lack of adult points by acting like a child.

Except that it's much better characterized than most of the rest, presenting a poignant and revitalizing depiction of a person looking within themself and rediscovering their place in the universe but it's never trite or sickly.

A good bit of fun that is never hateable.
  • Terrible script. Horrific acting and cliche's. A cross between slapstick and puns. I've seen porn movies with a stronger plot. This movie isn't fun. No one acts like this in real life. Maybe there are twelve year olds out there that don't know any better - but I would recommend moving right past this one.
  • I saw these Nut Bags On YouTube and laughed my Ass off. I was shocked to see that they got their own Movie, it was some what worth it.

The director should have let them go a little more off the chain and I think the humor would have been better. It was funny and entertaining but some of the humorous scenes could have used better timing and delivery. ( if left up to the girls to use their gift)

It's like always, Holly-( CRACKER)-wood gets their hands on something that could have been really funny and they give it the ole FIST-O-MATIC.

I hope these Gals get another chance to work with a better director and a better script with someone who knows punch line delivery.

Next time let these Ladies be spontaneous and go off the cuff with their own brand of humor which made them famous on You tube in the first place.

Oh, and find them a a good comedy writer that understands who they are.

If you guys can do that, these Ladies will SHINE and I will be crapping a brick like so many times before! Hang in there Ladies, Something better will come along. All in all i still liked the movie. The Ashley Character was done well, I was actually looking for a 2 X 4 with a Nail in it....

I took away 3 points for holly-woods stagnant crap.

Also the young couple at the end of the movie had great chemistry!

I have never reviewed a movie before but this movie is just so terrible I don't want others to suffer. The acting is absolutely awful and slow.

Straight off the bat, Dirty 30 is an above average film that will at the very least keep you slightly entertained for an hour and a half. It's pure, harmless fun with solid performances from the very likable Mamrie Hart, Hannah Hart and Grace Helbig (the YouTube Holy Trinity), who play three best friends. I would have liked to see more character development for Hannah Hart's character (Charlie) as I thought she was the most interesting of the 3. Does this film bring anything new to the table? No, not really. Think of this as the mild-mannered lovechild of Project X and Bridesmaids. It's a predictable film that played it really safe but is still a charming little film nonetheless. The weakest aspect of this film is a forced high-school romance between two incredibly forgettable characters that the film could have completely done without. Each time these two characters were on screen, the energy and pace of the film was slowed down and all I wanted to do was get back to the fun bits.

Overall, I think big YouTube fans will enjoy this one the most as there are a bunch of awesome cameos to look forward to.

Kate (Mamrie Hart) has just turned 30 and has given herself as a present under-achiever's depression. Her two besties decide to toss her a party to cheer her up. The party includes a number of side characters and stories in order to make everyone laugh. The film made me smile, but not one belly-laugh as the situational comedy was too predictable. I put off watching this film as I expected some stupid sex comedy from the title. That is not the case. There is no gross swearing, sex, or nudity and the couple of sexual situations consisted of two people sharing a tub and a bed.

Please note, I am over 60 so I don't relate as well as say someone around 30. Might want to keep White Russians and nachos nearby.

Little weird watching a 40+ year old play a 30 year old. Kind of ruined it.
  • Warning: Spoilers
Just finished watching this movie. I've got to say, it's pretty mediocre. The ending where she has the tooth necklace??? Um... I agree with another review stating this movie had potential. It had some recognizable people in it and it was funny here and there. It was entertaining. It was just mediocre entertainment. There's a reason it's free on YouTube.

Hard to take the premise seriously when the main cast is clearly well on their way to 40.
  • I've been a big fan of the Holy Trinity (Grace Helbig, Hannah Hart, and Mamrie Hart) for over 3 years. I've watched them all grow on YouTube into the hilarious adults they are today. Camp Takota was a pretty good film but Dirty 30 surpasses it by 120%. The jokes were really funny and witty, the edits of this film are a lot more woven together, and the acting was very good. This proves that new media is capable of coming up with creative and funny forms of entertainment. I firmly believe that deserving and hard working Youtubers such as Grace, Hannah, and Mamrie set an example for people that are to afraid to pursue their passion to actually try and become what they want to be in life. This is by far my favorite film to come out of any YouTuber. It's well directed, well shot, and has 3 hilarious people in it. I can't wait to see what these hilarious humans create in the future. Love ya mametown, Helbig, and Hannah. <3
  • Anyone who Youtube will know all 3 of the main actors: Hannah Hart; Grace Helbig and Mamrie Hart. They got together for this movie and I believe they hit the cinema nail right on it's head. The film is colourful, well paced, well acted for what it is, nicely written with great dialogue, witty and charming and a little emotional in parts. There's plenty of cuteness to keep people interested but not enough to turn it smulchy. It's about as believable as any film of this genre and very formulaic, but that doesn't stop it rising to the heap of all the other unbelievable and formulaic movies. The only time I write reviews is if a film touched me or moved me in some way, be that positively or negatively, and this one was definitely a feel good, positive surprise. I've given it the highest rating I ever give a film and that's because tonight that's exactly what it deserved.

5/10 does not do the movie justice, it was a funny flick.
  • OK i am a huge fan of Mamrie,Hannah, and Grace's YouTube channel so I knew I would watch this eventually and I had super low expectations for it. I haven't really trusted YouTuber movies (after the hell hole that was Smosh the movie),but I was pleasantly surprised with this one. Camp Takota (their previous movie) was OK, but ultimately a Netflix movie, but Dirty 30?? I'm glad I spent $10 and bought it on amazon. This movie is fun and happy. This movie is just a party movie that isn't a high school one, but teens can still enjoy it. Watching it was an adventure that I want to live over and over again. Also let's just say I was super happy with Charlie's (Hannah Hart's) story line.
