  • I enjoyed watching these two friends' hilarious escapades while on the way and at a friend's wedding. Acting was not bad and story kept me interested until the end. Worth a watch. I'll probably watch it again too.

Honestly it's not the best thing ever, but I found myself enjoying this a lot more than I expected. The re-connection of two high-school friends, and their strange adventures going to a wedding.

I was browsing Hulu trying to find something that could catch my eye, and this did. At some point before I was even finished with it, I wanted to look up some reviews because I wasn't entirely sure how to feel about the movie and wanted to see what other people thought

To my surprise, I saw that a lot of people said the acting was bad, which is actually the main thing I think this movie did very well. All of the conversations between characters sounded believable, and Alec and Nate reminded me a lot of me and my friend when we were in highschool. There wasn't a point where I thought the acting was bad at all, it all seemed very real

But to me, I think the weak aspect of the movie was the plot. It was very basic, cliché and predictable. A couple of old highschool friends (one who has matured a bit since highschool, and one who hasn't) do some drugs, run into a crazy former classmate, and meet some hot babes on their trip to go to an wedding for someone they hung out with in highschool. While very simple, the movie was still entertaining enough to get me to the end

The movie's categorized as a comedy, but I only laughed maybe twice throughout it. Comedy definitely isn't what kept me hooked, instead I was just interested in where the story would go (which wasn't much of anywhere overall). I think this is because it uses a lot of stoner humor, something I've seen way too much of over the years and it's just gotten stale at this point

One thing I really don't understand is the weird, unexpected 4th wall break at the end. When the subtitle popped up, saying "blah blah blah until the wedding", I actually teared up a bit because of how well-done and unexpected it was, it was an adorable moment. And then equally as unexpected, Nate suddenly acknowledged the subtitle and says he's not ready to get married in a couple years, causing Amy to immediately hate him and storm away, and ruining the moment from before. I'm really not sure why they decided to do this. It was shocking, which I'm sure is what was intended by it, but it was totally unnecessary and I feel like "aww" feeling was way better than the "WTF" feeling

But overall the movie wasn't awful, but it definitely won't be remembered by many since it doesn't do anything special. I probably would have given it less than 6 stars, but like I said the acting was pretty good in my opinion, despite a lot of people on here saying it was trash, and it was also entertaining enough to not make me hate myself for wasting my time on it. If you're looking for movies on Hulu, can't find anything good to watch, and you haven't seen this, I'd say give it a shot. But it's definitely not a must-see.
  • Movie is pretty average. Wasted time again from fake imdb reviews. IMDB sort this out!!!
  • This movie is a pile of turds, don't waste your time watching it. I'm glad I didn't pay to see it.
  • As comic book guy would say, "worst movie ever". Slow, dull, not funny. I could go on and on.
  • The sad thing about IMDb is that they allow fake reviewers, people that will score a perfect ten for one movie (the one they appeared in, or know somebody that worked on it etc...) and then they never will review another movie again (just click on their username and you'll see what I mean). Those people should be banned and their reviews deleted. I watched this movie stoned, like I do with almost all other comedies, because I think everything is funnier in that state of mind. And to be honest I had some good laughs with this movie. Probably more laughs than somebody sober but that's my choice. The acting wasn't bad, the story was about okay and could have been better but I did have a good time so I just can't complain. In short this movie doesn't deserve a perfect ten, nor anything above a seven, but it also doesn't deserve the lowest score possible.

Don't bother watching. The high reviewers surely haven't seen this film
  • I really enjoyed this movie. It made me laugh big time & I was watching this alone! Not many comedies do that to me. It's a fun & crazy movie! I'm going to re watch it for sure!!!

Don't trust the ratings on this one. So bad acting and story I would gave it a 5. But because it have all those false ratings I will give it a 1.
  • A very entertaining film. The plot overtly speaks for itself. There is a sub-plot where young adults face the challenge to keep earlier relationships pertinent as real world experiences begin to influence their values and interests. While the content pertains primarily to millennials, baby boomers will also enjoy it. And baby boomers that had any sense of adventure in early adulthood may find this film nostalgic at times. Go check it out!

This is an indie movie about a guy coming back from college for a wedding and reuniting with his friend who didn't go to college. It's a pretty relatable film as most people were on one side of that either way. It's pretty funny for the most part too. The end randomly broke the fourth wall though and there was zero reason and I didn't like it at all.

College guy Nate reunites with high school best friend Alec having a random day of weed and misadventures. They have plans to go to their former classmate Kahji's wedding. There are two annoying issue. The first is named Alec. The second is named Nate. How old are these guys? They look like they're well into their twenties but their characters can't buy beer. On the other hand, the girls look like real teenagers. Even though I like the scene, the difference in age is awkward. As for Alec, he is one annoying character. He is pretty which excuses how other characters react to him. It would be fine if Nate is not constantly shocked by his antics. Their interaction becomes repetitive. Nate doesn't do himself any favors with his opening scenes with Machelle. On top of everything, these actors are not good comedians. They aren't good actors. The movie is definitely trying very hard to be funny. When the leads are incapable of pulling it off, non of it can ever be funny. It's cringe-worthy and difficult to watch. With their troubled relationship, Nate would walk away under normal circumstances. It's only the need of scriptwriting that these two ill-fitting friends are pushed together. When there is an interesting resolution in the wedding, the aftermath is an over-written piece of dialogue. That's the issue. Every time something good is on the screen, it is never far from something bad.
  • The best movie ever I watched 4 times and I still enjoy watching it

I enjoyed the film, story line, characters, effects, and music. I Rate this film 8 of 10 Job well done to all whom were involved truly a world class production.
  • The script is awesome the execution is awesome and the actors too.
  • I am a mom. I went with my 16 yrs old daughter and I LAUGHED so much throughout the entire movie in long time.
  • This film felt real in the way it was shot. There aren't Hollywood explosions, just a realistic version of a simple day gone wrong. After you see it, you realize that there was great character development and cinematography. The story centers around two friends from high school. Nate is a college fraternity member and Alec, his friend, is stuck in his home town still up to his crazy antics. The contradictory views of the two friends during the day make for great tension and comedy. Alec serves as a catalyst for the chaos which ensues. Hilarious! I highly recommend for both casual movie goers and people interested in new talent (the acting was great too). Trivia: Dylan Moran acted in, wrote, and directed this film! Get Big and Go Green. 🍺🐲

I truly laughed my way through this hilarious movie. It all took place in a day where you truly get caught up in their adventures and misadventures. This movie is a riot but also has a lot of heart. The characters are relatable and are perfectly cast. I predict this movie will become a hit in the category of Superbad. Definitely worth seeing.
  • Very funny and authentic film. Lots of laughs and super cast. Film has a vibe similar to Superbad. Great dialogue between the lead characters. I think it will be a breakout film for many of the young cast. Fresh Indie film from a young director/writer/actor. Many of us have had friends that always got us in trouble and for some reason we stuck with them, Get Big really provides a fun example of that dynamic.

This movie was nuts... if I ever met someone like Ernie Wolf (Grossman), I'm sure I'd act the same way that Nate (Moran) did. I knew so many guys like Alec (Stine), so I'd say that this film was accurate in regard to how this alcohol/cannabis driven age group behaves. The underlying themes of friendship (romantic and platonic) were portrayed realistically. The dialogue between Alec & Nate was light-hearted and intense. It touched on the volatile emotions that churn within young people. Great film, especially considering that this is a debut. I'm excited for the next film and I hope some of the same actors are along for the ride!!
  • Sheer entertainment. This is something which be part of your life, your children's life and the life generations to come.
  • Not often do you see a film that makes you laugh, laugh some more, giggle, chuckle, think and contemplate life! A truly amazing film that is based in honesty and humor. Everyone will find something to enjoy and resonate with in this film. It goes right to the core of human nature, becoming a viable person and making mistakes along the way. Run, don't walk to see this film. Truly a holiday reward!
  • Spectacular. I need more. Now. Not later. Now. Give it to me.
  • Didn't really care what I thought it should be or how it needed to one up the last movie.
