Forgive Me Father Volume II

A bit one-note in content and emphasis, Nica Noelle's second volume in her Catholic Confessional porn genre is a dramatically valid porn video. She also covered this ground for the defunct Rock Candy gay label, and it will be interesting to see the results of Dana Vespoli joining Nica's fold directing for Icon Male, beginning with the new release "The Devil Is in the Details".

Gerard Damiano nurtured this strain of brooding pornography with his early '70s classics, notably "Memories Within Miss Aggie" and the ground-breaking "Devil in Miss Jones". But Nica adds strong strains of Catholicism to the mix, wisely calculating that Rome and the church are already intrinsically anti-porn (just sex out of wedlock is bad enough) so this sort of poaching is no big deal. I would love to see talented pornographers portraying Victorian porn which is rife with randy priests and sex-crazed nuns, India rubber dildos, donkeys and all manner of debauchery taking place in convents and cloisters, but good luck with that in our current zero-effort gonzo environment.

A fine actor in Nica's stable, Brendon Patrick (with Irish accent), plays the priest, hearing out his parishioners' tales of illicit sex, illustrated episodically for us to view. The twist comes when Patrick's twin (excellent performance to differentiate the two characters) shows up in his confessional to tell his lurid tale and archly criticize his pious brother. This segment leads to an open-ending wherein the twin disappears, leaving us to wonder if he was simply a figment of the up-tight priest's imagination.

Sex performances are okay, if mechanical, with Nica regular Wolf Hudson explaining in the BTS short subject his return here to Gay porn roles afte a 5-year hiatus of toiling in boy/girl and boy/transfemale scenes, and the industry's reaction to such cross-category employment decisions (it ostracizes rather than condones). For all the b.s. of PSA's on freedom of speech and safe-sex one sees on Adult videos, I believe "physician, heal thyself" is the proper answer to the industry's self-righteous protests.
