Just before the ending credits begin a news appears on the screen about the two survivors of the accident and a date is written on top "Sunday, August 7, 2050" which means the film is set in the year 2050. later on as the news continues another date is also visible "August 12, 2050".
The opening credits alternate with highlights of newspaper stories, studies, reports, and schematics outlining the history of the project. By contrast, the end credits contain only newspaper stories covering the hidden post mortem of the project.
