Sam Porter must travel across a ravaged wasteland and save humanity from impending annihilation after mysterious explosions set off a series of supernatural events and otherworldly creatures begin to plague the landscape.
Stefanie Joosten, the actress who played Quiet in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain (2015), has been rumored and hinted to being in the game. Stefanie went out to Guerrilla Games, who programs the Decima engine for Death Stranding. Stefanie also tweeted a picture of her with a poster of Mads Mikkelsen, who is also in the game. Shortly after, she deleted the tweet. When asked if she has anything to do with the game by a fan at PS Experience 2016, she said "I cannot comment on that." Stefanie wore a Kojima Productions t-shirt on her gameplay channel on YouTube, StefPlays. Joosten later said in an interview in December of 2017 that she is "not involved" with the game. In the "Man in the Golden Mask" trailer, a similar-looking character to Jootsen is carried on Sam's back, seemingly confirming her involvement with the game.
It's all to safeguard the continued independence of Edge Knot City. They want the UCA to leave them be.
