A priest with a haunted past and a novice on the threshold of her final vows are sent by the Vatican to investigate the death of a young nun in Romania and confront a malevolent force in the form of a demonic nun.
The real name of the Nun - Valak - can be seen on the registration plate on the local villager's vehicle just before Father Burke, Sister Irene and Frenchie depart for the abbey.
What's the opposite of a miracle, Father?
When Father Burke and Sister Irene arrive at the house of Maurice, you can see a white light switch on the outer wall of the house. This is highly unlikely because houses in most villages in Romania in 1952 did not have electricity and relied on petrol lamps. National electrification of villages began in the '60s.
