I rarely give 10 stars, but this was a very good film in my opinion!
The first thing I noticed in the film - how good the little Maximilian Ehrenreich plays. He previously had looked into the ways talented kids might react to different situations in comparison to, so to say, 'normal' kids. I never leave reviews, however, his talent inspired me, he really played his role remarkably - I believed his character every second.
His mother has a lovely character, too, I'm sure lots of mothers are able to relate - worried about their kid being bullied at school and just wanting them to be, again, "normal", do sports with friends, socialise etc. At the end of the day - why would it ever matter what the parents want? Then it's a matter of stepping over one's pride and letting it go, realising what's actually good for your kid. I loved the way the film creators presented this struggle between a mother and her child.
