The Private label has been releasing rather lame videos of late, hardly up to the former standards of the 50-year-old Euro porno outfit. This inevitable cash-in on the BDSM craze of novels promising 50 rather than 5 shades plays okay, if uninspired (director Alex Conte is an aspiring hack, not even a full-fledged one).
The five vignettes follow the regimented pattern of the novels and the lousy films they've inspired -namely an innocent young girl falling under the sway of a larger-than-life (almost Trumpian) male success. Of course, this format was actually invented or at least popularized way back with the "Story of O", but today's generation is entranced instead by "Shades".
This being from Europe, the emphasis is on anal sex, d.p.'s and ATM action, with the fetish-garb and S&M motifs more of a lure rather than dominating the content. That's as it should be for Private, which once upon a time had the successful (and still sought-after videos) Pirate subsidiary devoted to kinky fetish material from the likes of Tanya Hyde, Kendo and Frank Thring.
Our heroine Ana Rose is a looker, and she bases her stories on those related to her by kinky rich ladies. It's all easy to take, and the vast cast of lovelies is a pleasure to watch, whether as dominatrix (Celine Noire) or submissives (Linda Sweet and Alexis Crystal).
It's a crap shoot nowadays buying one of the Private Gold releases, but this one is better than average.
