  • This is the first of three films from the creative hand of director Masaharu Segawa starring Kiyoshi Atsumi as the good-natured train conductor character Ueda. There is some confusion here with release dates , but as Udea is struggling to pass his promotional exam this is the first film story in the series. The fast paced entertaining comedy weaves in multi threads as it introduces the characters and settings the make-up of this wonderful film trilogy.. Mentioned already in previous reviews the tremendously expressive talents of Kiyoshi Atsumi, in all these films he is accompanied with a fabulous support cast of extras. Lovely Yoshiko Sakuma plays a central character here and also in "Express Train" but oddly she is very last on the credit list? Fashionable and vulnerable Sakuma a great distraction for our quirky train conductor. The film wraps up with inspired novice Udea set to embark on a career path of selfless dedication in the service of the national rail network . A delightful first in a very amusing and entertaining three film series Highly Recommended Classic Japanese comedy..
