I wasn't expecting the episode to be...

So good... Several sci-fi shows has used this trope of getting back to earth in the 21st century several times now... But Two having a moment with a dog and Five enjoying video games felt really good. I knew somehow that budget will bring them back to earth but they did it in a cool way. I would have enjoyed more interaction with the 21st century people and somehow a kind of story with the kids... It was ruined (totally) but Android was amazing.

Oh no, not time travel (again)!

As soon as I read the tagline "Blink Drive self-activates and sends the crew of the Raza 600 years back in time to the friendly 21st century suburbia" it reminded me of Back To The Future, Star Trek The Voyage Home, and all other sci-fi movie/shows that took their protagonist(s) back to Earth's previous/current timeline from the future. It's a storyline that's threadbare due to over-use no matter how it's depicted.

There's no spoilers here but the references to modern day real life in this episode were more than enough to make me cringe. The interactions of the Raza crew with humans is well expected and predictable. The crew's reaction to 21st century Earth is also steroetyped to the hilt. There's nothing in this episode that is relevant to the rest of the Dark Matter storyline and if it was missed out entirely there would be no detriment whatsoever.

I really hate these time travel for no reason fillers that don't make any sense to include. 3/10 for lack of writing effort and creativity.

An episode worthy of it's own spin-off series!

As some of the other reviews have stated, the show's writers are top notch and have a knack for writing episodes which suck in viewers and make them want to binge-watch.

This episode I instantly recognized potential for a spin-off television series featuring the children and the professor.

Dr. Who had it's Sarah Jane Adventures spin-off geared towards the youth generation and I believe Dark Matter has the potential to do the same.

    Makes Little Sense

Other than the cutesiness of the gang traveling back to "modern day" earth by accident (Wisconsin of all places), the whole plot is preposterous. Of course, there is the discomfort of people from 600 years into the future coexisting with suburban folks in the Midwest. The implications of time travel are pretty badly portrayed. I'm sure people that think "The Trouble with Tribbles" was the best Star Trek will like this offering.

    Spiraling down

And suddenly we're plunged head first into a children's comedy. Sure, American boys "in the early 21st century just barge into other people's homes and rammage through their stuff, AND suppose suspicious people are "Russian spies". And they follow those "Russian spies" wearing bike helmets. And it was such a cute show. Sighhhh...

    • Trivia
The Android mentions that in the 21st century, American football was as popular as Quidditch , implying that the fictional Harry Potter game had become a legitimate sport in the future.
    • Goofs
The Android drives to the Marauder landing site in the woods, and the 3 kids follow on their bicycles. They pull up behind her just as she arrives. But the landing site is 6 kilometers (3.7 miles) outside of town. It would be impossible for them to ride quickly enough to keep up, especially over that distance.
    • Quotes

The Android: We will need to land in a forested area approximately six kilometers from the community.

Three: Guess that means we're hiking.

The Android: Only to a local dealership, where I've arranged for us to pick up a vehicle I pre-purchanged from "DriveDeal.com" I got double reward points.
