The movie starts with our protagonist talking to someone, that she has poisoned, softly coaxing him toward his peaceful and gentle death.
What sort of assassin stays to hold your hand and coax you to a long sleep? "I'm so sorry, I shot you, there's a big hole in your chest, you're bleeding out, it will all be over in a minute, close your eyes".
Watching this movie, I felt like the guy at the beginning had it easy. He was gone in 3 minutes, and I had to suffer the rest!
The plot. Someone interrupts a TV broadcast during a football game in Spain. Unnamed individuals in the UK sentence him to death, and the softly-softly protagonist is sent to kill him. The viewer is then subjected to a series of banal montages, interrupted by the occasional chats she holds with deranged conspiracy theorists, who don't progress the story, some news reporting about the strange broadcasts and some superficial investigation.
Movie assassins are given targets, locations and money. They try not to be seen, operating in the shadows, and providing a quick, clean and efficient kill, before disappearing like vapour.
This movie blurs the lines of assassin and investigator, making the assassin do all of the leg work, while never getting anywhere close to understanding who the target is or what their motivation is.
To spice things up, a second killer is following behind the first, supposedly tidying up loose ends, or putting said deranged people out of their misery. None of the kills has any meaning and is as superficial as the investigation that preceded it.
It all comes to an abrupt end, where the filmmaker ran out of ideas or just didn't know how to finish the story. We are no closer to the target, who continues to broadcast, with no idea why he is doing it, whom he is working for, or why he has to be stopped. We don't know why the second killer is following the first, and so everything remains unresolved.
In my opinion, this low/no-budget 'thriller' is guilty of misrepresentation. There is a weak plot, no thrills, no action, lacklustre performance, too many montages, and confusing departures.
Avoid!
