  • Warning: Spoilers
It's like a nightmare that won't end. It flourishes through star power. Through the years, they have recruited so many celebrities that it's always star studded. On a positive note, at least they have been providing a lot of work even for forgotten veterans of the industry.

While we are on a positive note, let me tackle that first since there is very little. Aside from providing work for lots of people, it once in a while provides good acting from some great performers. It becomes impressive as these few actors manage to thrive through stupid story lines, unbelievably terrible direction, and silly scripts. Still, at least you get to see some stars shine even if they are in the trash bin of a show it is.

Another possible positive note: it appears to be some sort of social commentary. The main character is a policeman who struggles dealing with crime and corrupt government and police officials. It positions the populace to question corrupt government. Cardo, might subtly be teaching people to not tolerate corruption in government by standing up to it. With the monstrous present government flooded with corruption, incompetence, and public treason, it may be serving by alerting people to this reality.

Unfortunately, this positive has been muddied by terrible direction and storyline. Cardo had turned into a rebel but has resorted to crime and terrorism, often unjustified. He is still being portrayed as a hero when taking the law into his own hands even with reckless disregard for the safety of others. Some fans cheer with misplaced hero worship that even when the hero turns terrorist, he is still seen as right. Great danger here.

A massive continuing failure is the lack of consistency, logic, and common sense that pervades the entire show. Each episode is loaded with an endless parade of stupidity. We do know that some element of suspension of disbelief is expected in shows. But when the story and script is loaded with obvious implausibilities, it becomes a monumental display of stupidity.

The first implausibility is the role of Cardo as heroic wherein other police officers superior to him act as if he is the leader. They drop their personal lives to follow him and this without justification in any way. He has been outcast and labeled a criminal, public enemy number one. He is in hiding. Yet, the utterly silly story line has all the most powerful politicians and crime lords in the land are portrayed as worried as Cardo is their main enemy. Plausibility, probability, no matter what math you do, it doesn't add up.

Of course other unrealistic scenarios. They portray the police as standing around the office most of the time and not working. That now-criminal Cardo can walk into a heavily guarded police center while carrying a long firearm in a bag without being checked while walking so suspiciously is the type of lack of common sense the people behind the show operate with. Suffice it to say, that's just a speck of sand in the immense treasure chest of stupidities in this show. If I would start to list it down, I can fill up several volumes of stupidity.

Unfortunately, many serious actors have been subjected to swim around this septic tank of a show. Add to this, it is littered with so many beautiful men and women casted as police, sadly many of them can't act. Period. So, how some veterans are forced to endure this, is heroic. Like poor Susan Roces, veteran superstar. She has been turned into a perpetual insertion of melodrama. They literally insert her to cry over anything and everything. Poor waste of such talent.

One mustn't forget that about a fifth of the show is wasted on ridiculous close ups of the various characters in the scene. No dialogue, just a round robin of close ups to waste time.

Now, I can't skip the most ridiculous fight scenes. Absolutely no common sense, no logic, no realism, no intelligence. It's either they have the stupidest directors that ever walked the face of the earth or they think that their audience is stupid beyond measure. The enemy is waiting in ambush, they are dug in, hiding behind protective barriers. They are a few feet away. Cardo and his gang are standing wide open, nothing protecting them. A firefight begins and Cardo and his gang shoot down almost everyone surrounding them, even if 90 percent of their bodies are protected behind barriers. Yet, Cardo's team are not hit even if they are in full unprotected view. Of course, you have the monumentally stupid acrobatics they do to avoid being hit by gunfire. So here comes a machine gun spraying across the scene, and the way they get out of it is do acrobatics. I don't think there are enough adjectives to adequately emphasize how stupid this show it.

To fans, I sound like I'm bashing the show. Depends on your perspective. It's not that I am saying that this show shouldn't continue. If a lot of people love and enjoy it, then sure let them enjoy. But I'm just giving my review, so that maybe one day TV shows can improve. That if this show can't be improved, at least others can. That hopefully there can be good stories driven by logic and common sense and supported by realistic scripts and directed by competent directors. This show lacks all of those.
  • This Drama series is getting boring, and unrealistic. Im a half Singaporean half Filipino guy, and of course i need something to watch from the Philippines but this drama series is taking too long. There have been many opportunities to end the series but it just goes on and on. First Pulang araw then Vendetta then Task Force Agila, whats next? At first the series was fun and entertaining to watch but after a year it starts to get boring, the story becomes unrealistic, it makes the police and military look stupid as well. Too much climax is not good. Just end it.

    Warning: Spoilers
At the start it was good. It had a great cast and storyline. However, as time went on the plot just went in all sorts of directions. Honestly I don't know why people still watch this. Every arc literally has the same storyline. It's always "the main character against a bunch of arrogant and manipulative people". And don't even get me started with that main character. He literally is a Mary sue, his protagonist halo is way too strong. There's even one scene where he's fighting a whole group armed with guns and they can't even harm him, yet miraculously he shot every single one of them. This has been extended far too long and the original plot line is nowhere to be seen. Even almost all of the original cast are gone.
  • The writers and the actors are now being drained of their brain powers, that the story's forgetting the original creator/story.

Edit: Now it's much more worse than the first season, they sould fix their story because it's bad. Like a president that doesn't see or notice that someone is adding poison to his freaking medicine??? And why does he not notice why alot of his friends are mad to her.

If it's possible to rate 0 stars, that would be great.

The show's been going on for years! It's like your typical tv show that gets worse every season. A film/show needs to have a broad plot. Maybe the producers are running out of ideas that's why it gets bland and unrealistic the longer it runs.
  • The throttle is on the right side. This dude shoots with his right hand. You cannot keep speed with a car chase when your throttle hand is shooting a hand gun. I don't care if the story is far fetched, but please get the motorcycle action scenes correct.
  • Warning: Spoilers
I watched that yesterday's episode and it shows that the innocent (specifically Delfin) is arrested by some called "dirty" cops. The image of the country's president is ruined by making him an antagonist due to taking drugs by Lily. In 2016 and 2019, Cardo the protagonist was arrested and imprisoned, and this time around, Delfin. He was freed and again imprisoned. Seems like the series is running in circles, just like Kadenang Ginto. In all of the series of the world, it's basically impossible to defeat the good against the bad. The director and writer need to correct their laziness, incompetence and stupidity or I'll give zero stars if possible.
  • Basura to, coco desperate for keeping the job, dami niyong kabobohan. Frauds.
  • Where can you find a poseur president character who is a twerp and makes a runaround in the presidential palace while the real president has been a chump and useless all his administration and is comatose? Then, the twerp has created a harem in the palace whereas the bad guys run the government for a long time you never know when it is going to end. Where can you find the characters who run through a hail of bullets from the bad guys who are too many and occupy the higher and advantageous position, not too mention better firepower, and yet annihilated by the former with the hero leading the charge, unscathed and looking good?

Where can you find a TV show where the zoom in of the camera at the face of characters in a number of scenes, before commercial breaks and episode end, if the number of minutes is collected and counted, would take half a season of its five-year existence? And mind you, the length of time for commercials is usually longer or almost as long than the episode.

Then the acting, especially of Mr Coco Martin, is campy, amateurish, and average.

Yeah, the original actor who played Ang Probinsiyano should be rolling in his grave right now. It's no wonder the station which shows the story should never be given a franchise for allowing this travesty to the art of TV drama making. This show will go on because many Filipinos are too lazy to be critical at how their minds are fed by.

I AM TOTALLY NOT A ROBOT ABS-CBN HIRED. WELCOME AND BIENVENUE WELCOME TO CABARET OH CABARET OH CABARET. That said, probinsyano is an Oscar worthy tv show that 99.9 percent of the population has yet to understand.
  • What part of a true action series didn't you really understand?

All i could see is with Bland scripts, mediocre fight choreography, corny jokes and overly-emotional death scenes from previous to this current season. Until now i can prove that this show is still irrelevant for today.

    P. S: Villains are slowly gaining victorious over despondent but forgotten squad of heroes.
  • I love the series. Always making me hyped for the next episode of action packed awesomeness.
  • Warning: Spoilers
While I won't deny that it certainly drops quality here and there, it still manages to have atleast a "decent" story even though its "charm" has gone away since 2018-19. Still, even with its problems (excessive use of camera zooming and the main protagonist being wanted for 6 SEASONS of the show), it's not that bad.
  • Somehow, they still find a way to extend the story and most of the time it defies logic. Sometimes it's not even related to the previous plot. When it first came it centered around his goal to bring down a drug lord, in which he succeeded. But somehow, he became a vigilante, protecting the president and all that.

These kinds of entertainment, further destroys the quality of the Philippine showbiz industry. The industry is too monetized, it does not focus on quality anymore. And probably the main reason I gave this the lowest score possible, is because of that. Ang Probinsyano, is the manifestation of what the showbiz industry has become.

I hope that the series end soon, it still survived even after the ABS-CBN shutdown. We need to start profucing way better material than this.

    Warning: Spoilers
Day by days this T.V show becoming more unrealistic and the lead actor is unkillable that's why too bad for the remake of FPJ's good movies.
  • The first years of this show was surprisingly good but until they just won't stop the show and this is just one season and they did not even make it 2 seasons and pls just stop the show or if you don't want to then just make 2 seasons and wait for at least 2 or 3 years.
  • Warning: Spoilers
With the recent tragic death of Alyana, I'll never watch the series from now on. Ever since the first season of the series, there are too many innocent deaths, especially in the hands of the villains, namely Arturo, Lily et al. The Black Ops was sent to shoot Cardo's allies and kill some, especially Alyana. That was the result of the director's laziness, incompentence and stupidity. 0/10 and my exit from watching.

Plus, on the burial scene, Cardo is kissing the dead Alyana. Some simpleton made that scene.

P.S. It's my second review for the recent tragic death of that 4-year character.
  • Warning: Spoilers
I dunno if this is supposed to be a police procedural or a blood-drenched gorefest that makes the likes of Grand Theft Auto seem family-friendly.

The August 5, 2022 episode for one is unapologetically gruesome particularly when Cardo avenged the death of his grandfather, by tying Armando's arms to a pair of Toyota Mega Cruisers and ripping them off, with Cardo himself personally finishing the poor sap off by running him over. I don't doubt it if the people who watched this show are averse to video game violence yet gush in glee as their un-favourite antagonist gets ripped to shreds.
  • First part wasn't so bad, 95% are flashbacks. Unrealistic fight scenes. Never rans out of bullets. Black Ops never achieved anything, they should be unfunded or decommissioned. Boring dialogs. Not even a half star!
  • Warning: Spoilers
I watch this show with english subtitle what they say to each other when they aired this show in 2015 and it still going on as of 2018 on TFC. Cardo who played by Coco Martin who wanted to fight the bad guys, make philippines city in peace and search a bad guy for his brother death which later reveal another corrupt Police officer named Police C/Insp. Joaquin S. Tuazon who played by Arjo Atayde and Corrupt Tuazon family from book 1 (Season 1 and Season 2). In addition, Cardo and his twin brother Ador Dad killed by Don Emilio Syquia who played by Eddie Garcia (Joaquin Grand Dad) during book 1 (Season 2).

Cardo having his two good friends is Onyok who played by Simon Ezekiel Pineda[ and Glen Corpez who have love interest with Cardo who played by Maja Salvador plus Cardo silly sidekick named Benny who played Pepe Herrera who formerly friends with Cardo Brother.

However, Glen Corpez left the police force to help her familes and she haven't spoke to Cardo since and she may return in the future maybe a new relationship with Jerome due to Cardo already married to Alyana a news lady , Benny got killed by Joaquin gang while Cardo and Onyok escape at the time Cardo was criminal due to Joaquin frame him up for being a drug dealer, and Onyok left Cardo family home to reunited his mom and dad and half sister.

IN BOOK 2 SEASON 3 After Cardo killed Joaquin S. Tuazon and saving her new wife Alyana and Don Emilio is in Jail for now. Cardo and his Alyana had Cardo son and his family have to face new life in the new neighborhood . The city of Philippines is under attack by bombers and also killed Cardo son which is the Rebels named Pulang Araw (lit. Red Sun) led by Romulo Dumagit alias "Leon" (lit. Lion) (Lito Lapid) later reveal it was not them all along it is Homer who was former of Leon group and Director Renato "Buwitre" Hipolito a government officals in the Philippines. Cardo wanted to seek revenge for his sons's death by joining his Philippines Military group however his military group is under attack by rebels which is reveal Government officals tell Homer that his Military group going to attack them and the rebels beat his Military group and capture three Cardo military friends and leave Cardo almost dead under the water.

In addition Cardo wake up and he decided to join the rebels group as he's spying what's they are doing and find clue's about them. Plus Don Emilio bail out from Jail to due to a Senator named DeSiviaand Emilio wants to revenge on Cardo due to him destroyed his corrupt family.

In Philippines viewers response to this show FPJ's Ang Probinsyano was initially to air until 2017 due to its action scenes, high ratings and "real life lessons" which was well received by the audience. Furthermore, the series has also been known to educate its viewers about Philippine laws and issues.

For this show was awesome and this show have allot adventure for Cardo to fight bad bad guys and save his friends. He wanted to The Philippines to be peace. I wish this show is on Netflix. Hollywood and Indenpence studio take a note to make this show as US Show in the future and I hope it's on Netflix or amazon.

    Warning: Spoilers
Ang Probinsyano is long over, the story has been dragging everyone for the last 7 years with storylines that jumps off the shark, unrealistic fighting scenes, too much characters, excessive drama and emotions, corny jokes and a lame overrated protagonist/hero.

But the ending was a lot

    • Too violent and bloody, the producers should have had put a trigger warning for viewers who are scared of blood or violent scenes especially the ones that involved a rape scene in there.

    • All supporting characters are dead except for Cardo and the president like they can fight a group of bad guys but can't fight an ARMY of them and ended up dying anyway??? Like what the?? This is unrealistic.

    • Cardo was shot in the back, legs and stomach in a deadly fashion but keep him alive looks unrealistic to me especially he has almost died many times in the show.

    • 2 characters unwittingly killed guys who were dressed as terrorist and were gagged with a tape and rather than untying them and releasing them they were killed in a stupid fashion.

    • Nobody even explained how Onyok came back??? And how Mara survived the sea? It doesn't make sense plus how did Lola Flora died in the show?

    • Plus how did the kids came back??? They were never there in the show since COVID and now they came back out of the blue???

    • President Oscar and his lover never get to reunite with Mara after the whole messy war

    • Cardo and Hipolito never get to fight each other

The ending is too unrealistic, overly dramatic and the storyline has no sense plus they did not include trigger warnings to viewers who were scared or the violent and rape scenes involve plus kids are also watching the show to look up at Cardo too. There's so many questions left unanswered in this ending that it left a lot of viewers confused.
  • Yes I still love watching ang probinsyano. Fight scenes are extremely awesome.
  • Whatever happened to good guys winning at the end of day? This show has jumped off into the absurd with the continual winning of the bad guys and the good guys not so much. The shows main character, Cardo, is hardly ever seen and his task force has been relegated to hiding in a three room flat in hiding. The show is about corrupt politicians, drug lords and assorted very bad street thugs. What a waist of time watching it. Don't get me wrong, the early days of Cardo shooting up the bad guys was great, that just doesn't happen anymore. And there has been way to many of fan favorite good guys and gals get killed off. Time to end the show, or fire all the writers for ruining a good show.
  • Mainstream media is saturated with hype and overrated trash like the jason bourne and john wick franchises. In the Philippines, the most overrated show would be this soap opera, dubbed as the longest running local tv show in the country's broadcasting history. The show is an insult to common sense and human intelligence.

"FPJ's" Ang Probinsyano represents everything I hate about cutesy fartsy mass media; its emphasis on the shallow and hip as well as its pandering to the jologs, kurimaw and teenybopper herds. This is the type of garbage the disneyfied, k-pop idiots enjoy watching because it doesn't require a lot of brain processing. Its lead star, Coco Martin is being sold to the viewing public as a new type of action star, a hero for the new millennium. It's very fitting because in this day and age, people have become infantile and have lost the ability to think critically. They just mindlessly ingest whatever the local networks, print media and social media cram down their throats. They believe whatever the "experts" tell them. Folks, use your own thinking faculties. Don't let mainstream media or any media entity to do the thinking for you.

Going back to Martin, the "action" guy for the new generation; this dude got the role by sucking his manager's ding dong. The makers of Martin's show have a fundamental misunderstanding of what an "action star" is supposed to be. An action star should possess grit and not look like a homo from the backstreet boys or one direction. Look at the classic Filipino action stars: Fernando Poe Jr., Rudy Fernandez, Ace Vergel, Lito Lapid, Ramon Revilla, Dante Varona, Anthony Alonzo, Ronnie Ricketts, Robin Padilla; these mofos are legit badasses and tough guys in real life. Martin on the other hand is merely a pretender, a product of hype and unsubstantiated publicity. His fight scenes and action sequences are aided by camera trickery, wires and frequent use of stunt doubles. He should be in a romcom or drama like the other pa cute actors; seriously, look at the guy, is he convincing as a cop, hardened by years of police work in the streets? Even Diego from Bubble Gang look a lot tougher than "Cardo".

Though it's evident that the show is pure bullsh-t, I remember I gave it the benefit of the doubt back in 2015. Besides, it does have Da King's initials attached to the title and maybe by giving it a chance, one of its directors, Toto Natividad will be provided the opportunity to make another action film with an early 90s sensibility. Admittedly, the show had promise in the first several episodes, specifically the story arc about Ador, Cardo's identical twin brother, is surprisingly good. The story with Ador Dalisay had tension, ambiance, atmosphere, drama and suspense. I actually like the interior scene in the police station where Ador seems to be having a hard time trying to reconcile his idealism with his colleagues' cynism. Martin's Ador is a likeable guy, and to be fair to the actor and give credit where it is due; he was able to breathe into the character a vulnerability which even FPJ would have applauded, considering that when Da King played the same role, he came up with a more or less workmanlike performance. Now all this built up tension in the first part of the show went down the toilet once the character of Cardo Dalisay is introduced into the narrative. All storytelling logic, realism or standards of plot and characterization are suddenly abandoned in favor of flashy and empty Chow Yuen Fat style gunplay and other gimmickry which would make John Woo vomit his lunch. I stopped watching the show after this devolution.

Where the show is good at is in reminding viewers of the times when action movies had at least, a clear footing in the entertainment market. As such, it uses nostalgia as a selling point by featuring as guests, long forgotten 90s headliners like Jeric Raval and even fight choreographer Val Iglesias. Nevermind that the same greedy corporate structure that put an end to making action films is the same entity that birthed this garbage. This is the corporate institution which forced people to watch the horrible movies of vice kabayo and the horrific infidelity oriented flicks peopled by gay leading men.

To conclude, Ang Probinsyano, the show, is an outrage. The show is an assault to human decency and the rappers in the show should be arrested for illegal possession of ugly face.
