‘Lilo & Stitch’ Review: An Unnecessary Live-Action Update
Image
Stitch in Disney’s live-action ‘Lilo & Stitch’ (Photo © 2025 Disney Enterprises Inc)

Disney’s at it again. After the giant box office bomb earlier this year of their live-action Snow White, the studio has remade another of their beloved animated films, Lilo & Stitch, into a live-action CGI movie. If only it were worth watching.

The story is pretty much the same as the zany and lovable 2002 film. The little furry blue alien Stitch (voiced again by Chris Sanders) escapes from his planet, where he was about to be exiled for being too dangerous a weapon created by Jumba (Zach Galifianakis). Stitch crash lands on planet Earth—Hawaii, to be exact—and the chase is on, with Jumba and Agent Pleakley (Billy Magnussen), the alien expert on Earth, trying to capture the escapee.

Stitch ends up at an animal shelter where he’s mistaken for a dog, which is one...

Memorial Day Box Office Could Top $314 Million for New Record, Rebounding From Last Year’s Crash
Image
Amid a deep, months-long slump, the Memorial Day box office in 2024 was the worst seen by theaters in nearly three decades. But in a night-and-day flip, Memorial Day 2025 could be the best ever.

While last year saw the “Mad Max: Fury Road” prequel “Furiosa” flop despite strong reviews, this holiday brings a pair of franchise films with plenty of hype: Disney’s remake of “Lilo & Stitch” and Paramount’s series finale “Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning.”

Currently, box office tracking has “Lilo & Stitch” generating one of the top five biggest opening weekends in Memorial Day history before inflation adjustment, with projections for the four-day period ranging between $120 million and $135 million. Disney’s internal projections sit on the low end of that range at $100-120 million.

Rival distributors tell TheWrap they expect the remake to not only beat tracking but potentially challenge the $160.5 million Memorial Day record set...

“These are all fake people”: Joe Rogan is Thrilled to Learn AI Can Make Movies For $500K But It’s Slippery Slope
Image
Yeah… even Hollywood is not safe from AI. Although movies M3GAN and The Terminator showed us that AI is not a good idea, it seems that this might be happening to the same people who created these movies!

Joe Rogan, the famous American podcaster, discussed artificial intelligence’s capabilities and the extent to which it can go. The podcaster was impressed to learn how cheaply work can be done with AI, and Hollywood doesn’t seem to be too happy about it.

Joe Rogan is thrilled to learn that AI can make movies!

Well, of course, it kind of seems like an insult to the millions of people attached to the filmmaking business. But the crux of the matter is that AI can now make studio-level movies with only $500K!

Movie Review: Lilo & Stitch
Image
Although it has been just two months since Disney’s Snow White was released, the Mouse House has unleashed yet another live-action adaptation of a beloved animated film. This time around, 2002’s Lilo & Stitch is given the “real” treatment and the result is an honest-to-goodness Disney classic in its own right.

Following the same path as its animated counterpart, the 2025 incarnation of Lilo & Stitch gets underway when a young parentless girl adopts a “dog” from a local animal shelter in Hawaii, only to discover later that the creature is a purportedly dangerous experiment that has taken refuge on Earth and is being hunted by its creator and the galactic body that sees it as a menace to life in general. Once the creature (voiced by Christopher Sanders) meets Lilo (Maia Kealoha) and utilizes his innate charms to convince her that he would make a good pet “dog,” they must convince Lilo’s sister,...

I Saw Lilo & Stitch’s Live-Action Pleakley and It Should’ve Stayed in the Vault
Image
When Disney announced a live-action remake of Lilo & Stitch, fans were both excited and nervous. For me personally, though, the original movie holds a very special place, especially for the quirky alien characters Stitch and Pleakley. And while the remake seems to have captured Stitch’s essence well, Pleakley’s look is causing serious concern.

After seeing an image of the character online, I was shocked and not in a good way. Instead of feeling nostalgic, I found myself wondering how the Studios managed to get him so unbelievably wrong. Let’s dive deeper!

Disney’s live-action Pleakley is a disaster (and I’m not surprised anymore)

When I finally saw what Pleakley looks like in Disney’s upcoming Lilo & Stitch live-action remake, I was left absolutely stunned. Not because the studios did a wonderful job on him, but they created something that didn’t match the character we saw in the 2002 original at all.

Lilo & Stitch's Rotten Tomatoes score has been revealed. A live-action remake of Disney's 2002 animated movie of the same title, the upcoming film follows the titular Hawaiian girl who adopts a dog-like alien and teaches him the true meaning of family, unaware that he is an experiment created to cause chaos and destruction and is being hunted by aliens and social workers. TheLilo & Stitch live-action remake features Chris Sanders reprising his voice role, alongside newcomers Maia Kealoha, Sydney Elizebeth Agudong, Hannah Waddingham, Billy Magnussen, Zach Galifianakis, and Courtney B. Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot in Snow White (2025)
Lilo & Stitch review – Disney’s latest unnecessary remake is a monstrosity
Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot in Snow White (2025)
The studio’s new attempt to generate more money from the same property hits an instant roadblock in ghastly misfire

This year, Disney may have gone too far, turning perhaps its single greatest animated film into a heavily CG-augmented quasi-live-action monstrosity. No, not the already-infamous box office bomb Snow White; the animated basis for that movie is a monumental achievement in the medium, but it’s ultimately a famous version of a timeless fairy tale that seems fair game for reinterpretation. Lilo & Stitch, however, is the rare sui generis piece of Disney animation – one that somehow emerged during a tumultuous time for the animation studio to become a substantial hit back in 2002.

The film has endured because it’s a triumph of mixing techniques: old-fashioned ultra-expressive hand-drawn animation and watercolor backgrounds; dashes of newfangled computer animation to assist with some of its sci-fi-heavier scenes; and a story about a stranded...

Lilo & Stitch Review: An Adorable, Heartfelt, And Aggressively Safe Reimagining
Image
Three things in life are certain: death, taxes, and me crying over Experiment 626 embracing his new life as Stitch. And it is this certainty that will assure the fact that Disney is going to have to build a new vault to store all of the money they're about to make off of their live-action reimagining of "Lilo & Stitch." After the poor box office performance of the plagued-with-controversy adaptation of "Snow White," Disney needed a win. Make no mistake, they're going to win big, and it has nothing to do with whether or not their latest live-action venture is "good." People love that throaty-voiced, blue, koala-dog alien, and unlike the seven nightmarish dwarfs magical creatures, he translates perfectly into realistic CGI.

This live-action version is actually the sixth movie in the franchise, in addition to the two seasons of the hit animated series. It's also the second-best movie in the franchise,...

Lilo & Stitch Review — Cute but Not Memorable
Image
The second of Disney’s live-action re-envisionings of its classic animated properties this year, Lilo & Stitch is also likely to be far less controversial. A sweet if fleeting family adventure, the remake of Lilo & Stitch suffers from being too long and some poor casting choices but is salvaged by lead characters and performers that you can’t help but love.

Lilo & Stitch Review

As we all know, Lilo & Stitch tells the story of a young Hawaiian girl and her older sister who find their already tumultuous family life made even more hectic by the arrival of an adorable runaway alien who becomes her unlikely friend. This remake is pretty faithful to the spirit of the original, following the core story somewhat closely and even recreating more than a few scenes.

Sinners North America Box Office Day 31: Emerges As The 4th Highest-Grossing Horror Movie Ever On Its 5th Weekend
Image
Sinners North America Box Office Day 31: 5th Weekend Update( Photo Credit – YouTube )

Sinners is giving a neck-to-neck competition to Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts*. Ryan Coogler’s horror movie lost the #2 spot in the domestic box office chart by a narrow margin. But it surpassed the domestic haul of The Exorcist to get one step closer to entering the top three in the all-time highest-grossing horror movie list in North America. The film has beaten the global haul of Disney’s tentpole movie, Snow White, to crack 2025’s grosser list. Keep scrolling for more.

The film is trending because of its original content and take on the vampires, which is different from other cliched Hollywood movies. The stellar performances from the talented cast members made the movie experience far better. Recently, it outgrossed all three Creed movies and crossed the $300 million milestone, collecting more than three times the modest production budget.

The advance bookings are in full swing for the Disney live-action Lilo & Stitch, and they have kicked off in China as well. The last Disney live-action remake, Snow White, is probably the biggest disaster of the year. It will result in a huge loss for the studio once the revenues and expenditures are settled. Snow White was made on a massive budget of $240-$270 million, excluding the marketing cost. It has only collected $86.8 million in the US and $204.23 million worldwide. Meanwhile, after the premiere of the upcoming Disney movie at the El Capitan Theatre in LA, the critics...

Lilo & Stitch: Disney’s Cheapest Live-Action Remake Poised for Profit, Unlike Snow White
Image
Disney’s wallet is breathing easy with Lilo & Stitch, their cheapest live-action remake yet at a modest $100 million budget, poised to turn a tidy profit while Snow White drowns in a $300 million budget avalanche.

The remake of the beloved 2002 animated classic is already generating buzz, with early box office tracking suggesting it could outgross Snow White’s entire domestic run in its Memorial Day weekend debut alone.

Meanwhile, Snow White’s $300 million price tag has left Disney in the red, needing a fairy-tale miracle to break even. Let’s break down the numbers, compare these two remakes, and see why Lilo & Stitch is shaping up to be a galactic win for the Mouse House.

Lilo & Stitch: Disney’s Budget-Friendly Remake

Disney’s live-action Lilo & Stitch is the underdog hero of their remake slate, clocking in at a lean $100 million budget—the cheapest live-action remake in the studio’s history.

Lilo & Stitch Star Jokes About Box Office Competition With Mission: Impossible 8
Image
The Mission: Impossible franchise's next mission, should Tom Cruise choose to accept it, is to outdo Lilo & Stitch at the box office.

At Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning's Los Angeles premiere, Courtney B. Vance spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about his and Cruise's films premiering the same week and how their financial competition might play out. "Tom, how are you gonna do bro? I don't think you can compete with Stitch, Tom, but you're gonna give it your best shot," said Vance, whose wife, Angela Bassett, will reprise her Mission: Impossible — Fallout role in the new movie as Erika Sloane. As a positive parting shot, the actor added, "We love you, you know we love you. I'll be there for MI8, I'll be there."

Vance also confessed that, despite joining the live-action Lilo & Stitch remake as federal agent Cobra Bubbles, his history with the original film is slim. "Everyone...

'Snow White' Conjures a Home Media Release Date
Image
Snow Whiteis making its way to Digital and Blu-ray this June. Despite a disappointing performance at the global box office earlier this year, Disney is ready for audiences to enjoy this live-action remake in the comfort of their homes. Marc Webb directed what promised to be a modern, enchanting version of the story that launched the legacy of Walt Disney Animation Studios. The result was critically panned, and the Rachel Zegler-starring film was relentlessly review bombed. The launch of Snow White on Disney+ will come at a later date, with the company currently focused on the home media release of the film on June 24.

Snow White followed the titular princess as she tried to escape from the claws of the Evil Queen (Gal Gadot). The monarch wanted to prove that she was the fairest person in the entire kingdom, with the young princess standing in the way of her goal.

Lilo & Stitch Tracking Looks Good But No Captain Gantu?
Image
The highly anticipated live-action remake of “Lilo & Stitch” is just days away. Current tracking puts the film at an opening of $120 million for the 4-day holiday weekend. However, it has been revealed that Captain Gantu will not appear in the film.

Tracking Estimates

So far, most outlets are reporting that “Lilo & Stitch” will open to a $120 million domestic total.

Box Office Pro has the long-range forecast for the film at $140-$170 million for three days and $170-$210 million for four days. These numbers may be for the global box office and not just domestic. It wasn’t clear.

Fandango said that “Lilo & Stitch” was the top PG pre-seller of 2025 (not exactly a big win). It is also had higher pre-sale tickets since “The Lion King” in 2019.

However, some controversies may hurt the film,

Early on, some were upset about the casting of Nani, saying the actress was too light-skinned for the character.

'Easily the Best Disney Live-Action Remake': Lilo & Stitch First Reactions Are Overwhelmingly Positive
Image
Disney's newest live-action remake, Lilo & Stitch, has received glowing praise from several critics who were able to see it ahead of its release. The movie will arrive in theaters on May 23.

The film, which sees Chris Sanders reprising his voice role as Stitch from the 2002 animated movie, was dubbed the "best live-action remake of a Disney animated film" by Nerd Reactor's John Nguyen in a post on X (formerly Twitter). A number of other critics agreed, with journalist Wendy Lee Szany also writing on X that the film has "Tons of laughter and heartwarming moments. The film hits similar beats to the original, as well added something new flavors."

The positive reception for Lilo & Stitch comes after a wave of controversy surrounding Disney's latest live-action movie, Snow White with Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot. Despite some audiences seemingly fatigued by Disney's numerous live-action remakes in recent years, Lilo & Stitch...

How The Industry Is Responding To Trump’s Rollback On Diversity, Equity And Inclusion: “Let’s Just Say Dei Is Alive And Well”
Image
Just outside the Motion Picture Association in Washington D.C., the street-wide, two-block letters that spelled out “Black Lives Matter” have been removed. The disappearance of the streetscape, put in place following the George Floyd protests in 2020, is indicative of what’s happened in Trump 2.0 — an all-out war on diversity, equity and inclusion programs, in the government and outside of it. Hollywood has had a varied response, with some entertainment figures speaking out, while studios and their corporate parents have tried to lay low, for now.

But there’s quite a contrast between pre- and post-Trump. Universal’s Wicked, which premiered in November, is still promoted on Comcast’s corporate page for its diversity, equity and inclusion (Dei), including a lead character who uses a wheelchair. By contrast, the March release of Snow White, with Rachel Zegler, a Latina actress, in the lead, put Disney into a bit of a...

Tangled’s Kingdom Dance Scene Is Disney’s Most Underrated Romance, And Flynn Rider Proves It
Image
Disney has brought to the table a lot of fairytale romances and princes and princesses waiting to rescue and be rescued. But out of all of this, if I had to pick one favorite, it would be Tangled all the way down. Maybe it’s because of the innocent love that Rapunzel and Flynn share or the wholesomeness of the entire story, that’s one flick I can never get bored of, for all the right reasons.

That said, the Kingdom Dance scene in the animated musical adventure fantasy comedy family film is basically my favorite romance trope ever delivered by Disney. This is because, irrespective of how underrated that scene may be, it is the perfect culmination of newfound freedom and wonder for Rapunzel; not to mention, Flynn Rider proves the excellence of the same.

Disney really outperformed itself while delivering Tangled‘s Kingdom dance scene Flynn Rider and...

It's Lilo & Stitch Vs. Tom Cruise At The Box Office, But Can Mission: Impossible Beat Disney?
Image
The summer movie season has gotten off to a relatively slow start, with Marvel's "Thunderbolts*" doing okay-but-not-great business (especially by Marvel standards). Things are going to pick up with the release of "Final Destination Bloodlines," but the true coming out party for the year's biggest moviegoing season is just around the corner. Disney's live-action "Lilo & Stitch" and Paramount's "Mission: Impossible -- The Final Reckoning" are both hitting theaters over Memorial Day weekend, offering up the year's biggest box office showdown. The question is, who comes out on top?

Domestically, it's going to be no contest. "Lilo & Stitch" is currently expected to bring in between $105 and $124 million across the weekend, which doesn't even count the Monday holiday, per Box Office Theory. Meanwhile, Tom Cruise's allegedly final "Mission: Impossible" is eyeing an opening between $59 and $67 million. That's right in line with earlier estimates, which had "Lilo & Stitch" doing...

Disney’s Snow White Fails Even Harder With Re-release
Image
Disney is desperate to turn around the “Snow White” debacle. Even after the film failed to hit over $100 million domestically in its theatrical run, Disney re-released it for Mother’s Day weekend, and it failed even harder.

The film was released in about 1,300 theaters in the United States for the weekend, and it only made $335k.

Beyond the abysmal total, it’s a big embarrassment for Disney.

Why they did a theatrical re-release after the failure of the first run, which just started a couple of months ago, is beyond me.

The buzz around the film has been nothing but controversy.

For years, this film has been at the center of controversy. From Rachel Zegler being cast as the princess. Peter Dinklage said it was regressive that dwarfs lived in the mines (which they never did.) Then, onto the set catching on fire. The creepy CGI dwarfs. Constant delays and reshoots.

‘Thunderbolts*’ Smashes Taron Egerton’s Certified Fresh Spy Thriller at Domestic Box Office
Image
Thunderbolts* is halfway through its second week in theaters, and while things are slowing down a bit more than anticipated at the box office, the film recently passed an iconic spy thriller. After a solid Monday that saw Thunderbolts* haul in $2.6 million at the domestic box office, the film now sits at a global cumulative haul of $273 million, with $130 million coming from the U.S. and $143 million from international markets. This $130 million domestic total is enough to push Thunderbolts* past Kingsman: The Secret Service, which finished its theatrical run with $128 million domestically. Thunderbolts* will next look to pass The Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, the divisive 2007 superhero sequel starring Chris Evans, Ioan Gruffudd,Jessica Alba, and Michael Chiklis as Marvel’s First Family.

It was Ryan Coogler’s Sinners that sat atop the box office for two weeks straight before the premiere of Thunderbolts*, but the second MCU movie of the year,...

Image
Snow White Worldwide Box Office: Still Needs To Earn $35M+( Photo Credit – Instagram )

Snow White was recently re-released at domestic cinemas, adding multiple screens, but to no avail. The film once again failed, and it is still millions away from recovering its colossal budget and then breaking even. Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot’s movie is so far the biggest box office failure of this year. Despite being one of Disney’s most ambitious reimaginings of a classic tale, the film has so far delivered underwhelming financial results relative to its colossal budget. Scroll below for the deets.

The movie received mixed reactions from the critics and audience. Some welcomed the modern twist and special effects, while others did not like the changes to the Og storyline. In addition, there were several controversies around the cast and some creative choices that might have turned the audience away. Although it has...

Relentless Review Bombing Damaged ’The Last of Us’ Season 2’s Rotten Tomatoes Audience Score
Image
It isn't unusual for genre titles across mediums to inspire intense reactions from fans. Often, these fans weaponize their collective power to spread negativity about films or shows. Targeted harassment of this kind is commonly known as review bombing, and this is exactly what we're seeing unfold currently with the ongoing second season of The Last of Us. The video game adaptation is now in the final stretch of its sophomore season, which has drawn a horrendous response from a section of the audience. As a result, the show's audience score on aggregator platforms such as Rotten Tomatoes has been in free fall.

Initially in the 60s, the show's audience score on Rt dropped into the 50s, and then the 40s. It's now on the verge of falling into the 30s. The Last of Us Season 2's audience score is currently teetering on the edge, at a "rotten" 40%. That being said,...

How Rachel Zegler's "Favorite Part" Of Snow White Was Written Explained By Composer
Image
Snow White continues Disney’s strategy of adapting its classic animated films into live-action features, but does so by taking things all the way back to the beginning. The original Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was released in 1937 and served as Disney’s first feature length animated film, making it one of the most influential animated films (if not films) of all time. The live-action remake stars West Side Story’s Rachel Zegler as the Disney princess and Gal Gadot as her stepmother, the Evil Queen.

While the past was very much honored in this new take on the story by director Marc Webb–Snow White pulled from original concept art to expand on the first film’s world–the movie was also beholden to modern moviemaking techniques. This was also true with the musical score, composed by Jeff Morrow. While other musicians like Benj Pasek, Justin Paul, and...

Disney Re-released Its Controversial Snow White Movie (& The Results Weren't Good)
Image
Disney's theatrical re-release of the controversial Snow White movie starring Rachel Zegler likely didn't go as planned. It only managed to earn a mere $252 per screen.

Per The Telegraph, Disney decided to re-release Snow White theatrically due to the arrival of the summer blockbuster season, hoping that the film, which greatly underperformed in its original run, might fare better. Unfortunately, the movie, which had been marred by controversy before it even arrived in theaters, did worse the second time around. After its re-release in 1,000 cinemas across the United States, it averaged $252 per person, with a reported total of $335,000.

With its production budget being north of $240 million, it is one of Disney's most expensive films to date, but it has grossed only $204 million worldwide. It remains to be seen if the studio will be able to salvage some of its losses withSnow White's digital release on May 13. A Blu-ray and DVD...

Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot in Snow White (2025)
Snow White | Disney’s live action film getting DVD, Blu-ray, 4K Uhd release in June
Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot in Snow White (2025)
Disney’s live action Snow White is heading to DVD, Blu-ray, 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray and Steelbook, with extra features on most versions too.

Now that the dust has settled on Disney’s live action take on Snow White perhaps the emphasis can now shift back to the film itself. Appreciating that online ‘influencers’ have raked in the hits and advertising money by slamming and slagging the film off, it’ll be nice to just sit back and assess it on its own merits.

I wrote about the sport of hating a movie before you’ve seen it, here.

The movie itself didn’t do great guns at the box office, although had it not cost so much money, its $200m global return would look healthier. Still, the accounting of it is Disney’s problem, and Marc Webb’s movie – headlined by Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot – is now coming to home formats.

This Disney movie has bombed so hard even the parks won't advertise it!
Image
Disney was already feeling some bad press from Snow White, but have they already given up on pushing it in the parks?

Disney has seen ups and downs at the box office. That’s no secret and really nothing new. What is well known is that when a big Disney movie comes out, it’s almost impossible to escape its presence at the parks.

Disney will go all out for these movies with posters, merchandise and more. A common bit would be them having special showcases at the Hollywood Studios with props and other bits as well as character meet and greets. As soon as you hit a Disney resort, the push for these movies is there.

Even if the film underperforms, Disney will still try to push it. They poured so much money into these projects, they want to get some sort of return for it, and visitors already...

Inside the NBCU Upfront: Seth MacFarlane Takes Aim at Rival Streamers, ‘Wicked’ Gets Another Big Showcase, Snoop Dogg Closes It Like It’s Hot
Image
Seth MacFarlane may have made network upfront history on Monday, opening the NBCUniversal presentation with a song-and-dance routine boasting the chorus, “NBCU has the shit you’re after!”

That was likely the first time any network boasted that they’re “the shit” in their message to advertisers — but it was very on brand, of course, for MacFarlane, whose overall deal with the company has so far generated a live-action Peacock series based on his “Ted” film franchise, and now an animated take on it as well.

Among MacFarlane’s competitive barbs in his number, which kicked off the two-hour NBCU upfront: “You can give all your money to Netflix/ just to have your commercials on auto play/ But I got news, buddy, all your views are the Tinder Dates just busy getting laid.

On Disney and Hulu, where MacFarlane still has a ton of business via his animated series “Family Guy...

Seth MacFarlane Sings About HBO Incest, Paramount CEO Uncertainty During NBC Upfronts
Image
It’s become an upfronts tradition for networks to mock their competitors. But during NBCUniversal’s upfronts, “Ted” and “Family Guy” creator Seth MacFarlane took the ribbing a step further, singing an elaborate song complete with smiling backup dancers and several cocktail breaks that took shots at all the major TV players.

First up was Netflix. “You can give all your money to Netflix just to have your commercials autoplay,” MacFarlane sang. “But I got news, buddy, all your views are Tinder dates just busy getting laid.”

He had kinder words for Netflix’s streaming rival Hulu, singing, “I can vouch that they’re mostly decent folks,” a nod to the fact that “Family Guy,” “American Dad,” “The Cleveland Show” and “The Orville” are currently available to watch on the streamer. But that still doesn’t mean he’s going to watch “The Bear.” “It’s a comedy with everything but jokes,...

‘The King of Kings’ Hits One Last Milestone as Theatrical Run Starts to Slow
Image
There has rarely been a time as promising as now for faith-based movies. With The Chosen: Last Supper trilogy and other Dallas Jenkins properties proving biblical adventures are as popular as ever, it's true that the release of Seong-ho Jang's The King of Kings was perfectly timed. Massively surpassing many people's expectations as to what it could achieve, Jang's tale of Charles Dickens (Kenneth Branagh) and his young son's trip to the past as they witness the life of Jesus Christ, voiced by Oscar Isaac, has been an almighty hit, even hitting another major box office milestone despite its theatrical run slowing down.

In total, The King of Kings has now surpassed the $65 million mark globally, split between $59.1 million in domestic revenue and $6.8 million from overseas markets. Not only is this enough for it to overtake DreamWorks' big-budget animated financial failureThe Road to El Dorado domestically, it also...

“NBCU Has The Sh*t You’re After”: Seth MacFarlane Opens NBCU Upfront Presentation With Insult-Packed Musical Number
Image
Well, this was a choice: NBCUniversal kicked off its upfront presentation Monday in New York City by having Seth MacFarlane participate in a musical number while singing “NBCU has the shit you’re after.”

MacFarlane, who is now set to make an animated version of his Ted franchise for Peacock as a follow-up to his live-action comedy, took center stage at Radio Music Hall to take musical pot shots at Disney dwarves, David Zaslav, HBO’s name change, FX’s The Bear, Paramount+ and how NBC “has the biggest cock.”

Here are the lyrics:

“Brother, don’t waste your buck. You can give all your money to Netflix just to have your commercials. But I got news, buddy. All your views are the Tinder dates just busy getting laid. They got 10,000 shows on the platform, but it ain’t where you want to write your checks because you will find,...

Box Office Round-Up: 'Thunderbolts*' Wins Second Weekend, 'Sinners' Holds Strong, 'Snow White' Tanks
Image
Thunderbolts* cruised to the top of the box office once again as the second weekend of the summer movie season didn't offer any meaningful competition for the MCU entry to face off against. Director Jake Schreier’s superhero flick made an estimated $33.1 million domestically to claim the No. 1 spot, and the recently rebranded *New Avengers also crossed the $100 million mark ($128.5 million) in the United States and Canada. The Florence Pugh-led ensemble piece has fared even better overseas with an additional $143.7 million en route to a worldwide total of $272.2 million after only two weekends of theatrical release. Regrettably, though, Disney couldn't let sleeping dogs lie, as the studio also tried to cash in on the summer movie season by unsuccessfully rereleasing their live-action Snow White — more on that catastrophe in a moment.

Michael B. Jordan and director Ryan Coogler’s must-see vampire collaboration, Sinners, continues to scare up audiences during its fourth weekend of release.

Sinners North America Box Office Day 21: Gears Up To Be 3rd Film To Hit This Milestone In 2025 & Beat Captain America: Brave New World!
Image
Sinners North America Box Office Day 21 Update(Photo Credit –Facebook)

Sinners, the horror original movie, is set to become the third 2025 release to cross this major milestone at the North American box office. It is proving its strong presence at the theatres despite other family movies. This R-rated film is the highest-grossing horror flick of the year, and it will soon crack the top five highest-grossing horror movies of all time list by surpassing It Chapter Two.

The film has lost the IMAX screens, and that has affected its sales, yet not enough to budge it from its dominating trail. It has been consistently at #2 after the arrival of Thunderbolts*. The performances by the compelling ensemble cast brought depth to the movie, adding to the film’s success and strong word-of-mouth. It has been outgrossing Joker’s dailies recently and registering record numbers daily among April releases. Globally as well,...

Gal Gadot's Evil Queen Hunts for Rachel Zegler in 'Snow White' Deleted Scene [Exclusive]
Image
Disney’s Snow White may have wrapped its theatrical run, but the fairy tale is far from over. The live-action reimagining, starring Rachel Zegler as the iconic princess, is set to arrive on digital platforms on May 13, with 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD releases following on June 24 — and yes, the bonus features are packed with magic. Among the standout extras? A deleted scene titled Hunt for Snow White, which Collider is thrilled to present an exclusive first look at. The scene offers a darker, more suspenseful moment that didn’t make the final cut: the Evil Queen’s soldiers search the woods for Snow White and discover her signature red bow among the foliage, which is a pretty sharp total contrast to the more whimsical beats of the finished film, and a fun peek at what director Marc Webb and writer Erin Cressida Wilson explored before settling on the theatrical version.

‘Snow White’ Deleted Scene Reveals Things Nearly Took a Very Dark Turn | Exclusive Video
Image
Disney’s live-action “Snow White” arrives on digital platforms next week, and as part of the bonus features on the movie, fans will get to see a few scenes that didn’t make the cut — including one where the forest nearly claims Snow White for good.

In TheWrap’s exclusive sneak peek of the deleted scene, Rachel Zegler’s Snow White is on the run from the Evil Queen’s huntsman, and like we see in the film, the trees around her seem to come to life and close in on her. As she retreats, Snow falls through a tree trunk to a level of the woods below.

But in this scene, the water she lands in nearly traps her. The vines in the water wrap around her wrists to keep her submerged, and she starts to drift off. Just in time, she spots the necklace her father gave her in the water,...

’The Last of Us’ Season 2 Review Bombers Relentlessly Target Rotten Tomatoes Audience Score
Image
Now past the midway mark, the second season of HBO's The Last of Us is rapidly emerging as something of a case study in review bombing. This is when a section of the audience collectively targets a film or show's scores on aggregator websites; their hate is typically directed towards women and minorities, and inspired by a misguided sense of frustration. The Last of Us Season 2 has been targeted for its translation of certain pivotal moments from the original video game, which itself was made a victim of review bombing when it debuted some years ago. As a result, the new season's audience score on Rotten Tomatoes has been declining at an alarming rate.

The aggregator has taken steps in the past to prevent targeted manipulation of this kind, but they don't seem to be working. The Last of Us Season 2's audience score began in the 60s, but quickly...

AMC CEO Adam Aron Dismisses Early 2025 Box Office Slump as Anomaly, Points to Sharp Recovery
Toni Collette, Mark Ruffalo, Robert Pattinson, Steven Yeun, and Naomi Ackie in Mickey 17 (2025)
AMC Entertainment’s first-quarter financial results for 2025 reflect a difficult period for theatrical exhibition, as revenues declined and net losses widened. Despite the numbers, CEO Adam Aron maintained that the performance should not be interpreted as a reflection of waning audience interest in moviegoing, arguing instead that the sluggish box office in the first three months of the year was an isolated event already being corrected by a much stronger second quarter.

The company reported a net loss of $202.1 million for the January through March period, an increase from a $163.5 million loss during the same quarter a year earlier. Revenue fell to $862.5 million, down from $951.4 million in Q1 2024, marking a 9% year-over-year decline. Admissions revenue dropped 11% to $473.5 million, and concessions fell nearly 12% to $283.4 million.

AMC’s earnings per share came in at a loss of 58 cents, a figure in line with analyst forecasts of 59 cents, according to data from FactSet. Shares...
