The title strongly hints at the premise used by Bud Lee in this throwaway but entertaining exercise in his series called "Bud Lee's Mystery Sex Theater" (with apologies to TV's MST3K).
Gimmick is that the heroine changes into a completely different person after having an orgasm, much to the initial dismay (and confusion) of her boyfriend Devin Wolf. That is essentially the hook upon which Lee strings half a dozen sex scenes, hardly set to impress high-brows in the audience but certainly fun in Bunuelian territory.
I'm not sure if it was a mistake but I found the first switch, where Temptress takes over as Marla #2 from original Marla #1 Cheyenne Silver, was problematic due to the actresses relatively similar looks. Of course, back before the turn of this century when this video was released fans would be more attuned to the differences between the two performers. But the subsequent transformations are radical: Temptress changing into Nina Hartley and Hartley into Anna Malle.
Perhaps I enjoyed this due to my latter-day belief that "keep it simple" is a good idea in fashioning an Adult saga -not so simple as to devolve into gonzo or mere wall-to-wall sex, but more in the nature of keeping a lid on pretentiousness. Too many pornographers, dating back to the era of Damiano and Metzger, have a penchant for overreacting to the general mindless of their trade, and attempt over-reaching philosophical treatments that fall flat.
But I'm discovering that Lee, in his hundred-plus Adult assignments, has an uncanny touch for keeping things lively and light, and getting the most out of his performers. This is not his A-game, but quality at a minimalist level.
Note that Lee and his scriptwriter George Kaplan returned to the gimmick two years later for the Adam & Eve feature "Night of the Chameleon", with a gender change wherein Devin Wolf transforms into another body (and actor) after every money shot.
