Storyline
Did you know
- TriviaHugh Jackman said he really was done playing the character of Wolverine after Logan (2017). He then said he regretted that statement after watching the first Deadpool movie and expressed to Ryan his interest in the two characters meeting on the big screen. When asked why he chose to return for this film, he simply said, "I just wanted to do it, and I felt it in my gut", adding that he wanted to have the best possible time ever on a movie set together with Ryan Reynolds. Likewise, Reynolds wanted to work alongside Jackman since the first Deadpool film and was saddened when he (Jackman) retired from the role.
- GoofsWhile Wolverine and Deadpool are making their odyssey in the Honda Odyssey, the car's clock jumps ahead three hours during their conversation.
- Crazy credits"Nicepool" is credited to Ryan Reynolds's fictitious twin brother Gordon Reynolds.
- Alternate versionsIn order to get a release in China, some scenes were edited or removed. The scene where Al asks Deadpool to do cocaine and then lists different names for it was completely cut out. The TVA agents fight scene had most of the blood edited out. When Wolverine kills Sabretooth, his head does not fall off on-screen and when Deadpool picks it up, a wide shot is used. Human Torch's death is shown but only briefly and his body does not melt. The Deadpool corps fight cuts out some parts and removes most of the blood. Sexual words were bleeped out. Only some f words were removed.

It has been a long time since I watched a Deadpool movie and I'd forgotten about the gross humor, the gratuitous violence, the swearing and the breaking of the fourth wall.
It was challenging at first watching Deadpool & Wolverine.
I had to sort of rewire my brain. This is not like anything I've seen recently.
Also, I am totally unfamiliar with the X-men universe. I haven't seen any of the movies and I don't know much at all about Wolverine. That hurt a bit.
However, having watched Loki I knew about the variants and the multiverse and that helped.
The pace of this movie is so fast that it left me feeling old and slow.
Never the less it is really fun and it is really funny. The jokes are hysterical and the very frequent self-aware Deadpool breaking the fourth wall all the time is funny too.
There are so many cameos in this it becomes mind-blowing. Wesley Snipes as Blade and Chris Evan's and Henry Cavill. The list goes on.
There are jokes about Wolverine's costume looking like a an LA Rams uniform, and about shawarma (which I still have never had)
Well... I liked it. It was not overly long. It was not boring. The beloved Brit actor Matthew Macfadyen has a pretty fun role.
Hugh Jackman some of the time seems to be trying not to laugh at Reynolds.
There's a sweet message at the end.
And there's the ugliest dog in the world ("Dogpool").
So I recommend but you probably should have seen the previous two Deadpool movies and I guess maybe Loki S1 first.
Oh yeah. The music. Damn the music throughout is great and the credits at the end finish with "Good Riddance (Time of your life)"
