Bhoomi Review: Sanjay Dutt's comeback turns out to be worth watching!
Movie: Bhoomi (UA)
Sanjay Dutt made his comeback this year with this new action drama BHOOMI. There were many reviews which thrashed the film and the director's vision totally. The film actually is very gripping, and its biggest success is that it's emotionally very powerful and intense, due to which it engaged the viewer so much that it's hard to realize when time passes so easily while watching this 132 minutes long film.
Director Omung Kumar has handled the film well. BHOOMI has the required intensity which works for the most part. The drama's powerful, as is the action. The director has told more of a story than just making a commercial package. The execution is top notch.
The film's intense dialogues also deserve praise as they are why the film gets elevated, especially during the second hour. The action scenes are decent as mentioned above, and the cinematography is splendid.
The only problem is with the editing in first half as unnecessary songs pop up, and that too where they weren't needed at all.
Sanjay Dutt's performance is excellent and the role suits him very well. Aditi Rao Hydari delivers an excellent performance that needs to looked forward to. Sharad Kelkar gets decent lines to speak, and delivers a fine act. Shekhar Suman also does a decent job and his comedy in the first hour works. Rest of the cast does the required job well.
BHOOMI is an intense action drama which has the necessary ingredients needed for an entertaining as well as educating film. Watch it not just if you are a Sanjay Dutt fan or a fan of anyone else in the cast, but also because this film delivers a hard-hitting message which needs to be seen and understood by all.
