Set in 1983, Tami tells Richard about a boat and uses the slang word "sick" to describe it. From the context, she is clearly using the word in a positive way. Using the word "sick" as slang for something good dates perhaps to the 1990s.
At the end of the credits it says. "The persons and events in this motion picture are fictitious. Any similarity to actual persons or events is unintentional."
