I skip the (admittedly well done) regular entries, as i have a car for my "racing sim" needs, but always liked these more unrealistic entries. This spin–off can again be adjusted to play like a semi-serious arcade game and the outback setting is obviously way out there too. The presentation that guides the campaign is so well done that other car games need to steal it, and the whole world is very organic. I would have liked the ability to warp to races and i dislike that you (usually) leave the race in the car you used specifically and not the one you drove to the race location to. The graphics are a noted highlight, downright mind-blowing even, and the audio presentation is also flawless. I have no idea how much "serious" racing fans will like it, but old school Need for Speed fans in need (hehe) of an actually good entry should get it immediately. 8,5/10
