In the latter part of his career, James Avalon has been concentrating on adapting to the fickle porn public's fondness for all-sex movies, and in this winning edition of Erotica X's "Love Stories" series he keeps the dialog set-up for each vignette to the bare minimum.
But the result is still highly romantic, aimed squarely at Couples audiences, as the XXX sex footage unfolds in a stylish atmosphere of love and sensuality.
A prime example is "Happy Endings", fittingly the finale in the show, with Damon Dice sprinkling red rose petals on his beloved Gina Valentina, before she goes and changes into sexy garb, replete with a beautiful hairdo. Their sex scene is gentle but passionate and generates a connection for the viewer impossible in the thousands of such scenes (especially the strictly pantomime ones of so many Euro Porn labels like daring! Pure) that omit dialog/characterizations entirely.
Keisha Grey is convincingly sincere in "I Wanna Have Your Baby", announcing her pregnancy to lover Chad White. The gentle scene has a twist ending, when Chad deposits a creampie, clearly unnecessary since she's already knocked up but in line with the romantic rather than strictly porn content.
"Time Alone" comes close to the all-sex approach, as the entire back story & characters is related in voice-over, followed by lovely Lana Rhoades putting on an impromptu lingerie fashion show for her man Jean Val Jean prior to their humping at a private retreat.
Avalon goes over the top with "Every Part of Me", a scene played straight though obviously having tongue-in-cheek overtones in a porn context. Title refers to Sara Luvv desiring anal sex from a willing Michael Vegas, though the dialog is couched in loftier terms than that. Emphasis on anal sex throughout the scene tips the balance to porn over eroticism.
