    Brilliant direction

The direction is flawless I can watch this on repeat. The class of actors chosen for this movie is outstanding. Each character portrayed by either veterans or newcomers stands out.

My only disappointment is the name of the movie. Why "The Hungry"? An adaption set amidst Indian context, the name "The Hungry" does not strike any chord. The name is a big damper. Wish they had been more creative and honest to the 'Indianness' of this adaptation by choosing a more relevant and striking name, rather than being unimaginative.

The Hunger, The hunger for revenge!!

Awesome piece of art with an extraordinary direction and the outstanding starcast that totally outperformed their roles. You may have watched many films with stories of sequential murders but the intensity and the cold bloodedness shown in this movie is simply unmatchable.

The lust of power, the politics to hold the position of superiority, the ruthless murders executed to satisfy the hunger for revenge and which only ends with the end of all the characters is the theme of entire film. I was glad watching Tisca Chopra after so long time that too playing such a bold character. Let's not waste time commending Naseeruddin Shah's role coz, he everytime surpasses the standard of acting you have set in your mind regarding him. While all the other actors did justice to their characters, also the flow and the pace of the movie will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout. I also will like to give you a hint of the ending scene specially. The last two minutes are so much subtle which perfectly justifies the title of the film and properly deserves a viewer's wit to be striked.

What I think is, if you are fond of psycho thriller movies.. than you will definitely die thanking director for making this masterpiece!

    Grim Revenge Saga!

There are numerous buyers/ audiences for Shakespeare's well- known tragic plays such as "King Lear," "Othello," "Macbeth," "Hamlet," and "Julius Caesar" and there is "Titus Andronicus" which is dubbed as the least impressive. Hell, not for me, it is quite absurd with glory gory dark revenge drama. I appreciate Bornila Chatterjee for choosing Shakespeare's least known tragedy in "The Hungry" and handling the complex subject with gore and care. It is an insane film, like a big weird mess but it's fascinating, the flow narrative is quite dark supported by the spectacle of the strong visuals and amazing cinematography. This is a rewarding piece of art, which will not satisfy the gorehounds but the arthouse fans. I have given this movie a 7 on 10, which it easily deserves. As for the acting, all the characters are tremendous, especially Tathagat (Naseeruddin Shah) and Tulsi (Tisca Chopra). Regardless, this is a required viewing to appreciate Borniala Chattejee for retelling an imperfect story with arresting emotional and aesthetic experience.

Hunger Satisfied! Bolly's Must Watch ! Bold & Striking Dark Murder thriller 👉🏻 Viewers Discretion is highly advised!

This movie could have been absolute Nail Biting Gem!! Provided you have your bollywood glasses On - This movie is simply mind throbbing. This movie is a must watch for people who loathe Bollywood , Hats off to an exciting attempt by Bornilla Chaterjee of introducing such dark concept to indian audience. Naseer saab's acting was the engine throughout. Mr. Ahuja - A character portrayal is everything in such movies, naseer saab develops such a beautiful character here who is the king in his own mind has his own fortress , a CHARISMATIC AND POWERFUL CHARACTER overall. Movie is obviously flawed , It has everything right with the plot , screenplay , story , but i think it really lacked some powerful dialogues that could have made a positive effect on its lagging screenplay. Also it couldnt create that nail biting curiosity which it could have with such a beautiful story and dark humor.

This Movie is absolutely fresh in bollywood , opened a doorway for many more to follow. Every child man and woman should go for this Asap. Must watch!

The Hungry is a Naseeruddin Shah acting masterclass!

"Revenge is a dish best served cold". this proverb perfectly describes The Hungry, a violent drama based on the Shakespearian tragedy Titus Andronicus. Set in contemporary India somewhere on the outskirts of Delhi, it is a tale of two families - the Ahujas led by patriarch Tathagat (Naseer who steals every scene he is in) and the Joshis led by Tulsi (Tisca Chopra, relishing the role tailormade for her). The story which plays out over a couple of days around a wedding between Tathagat Ahuja's son and Tulsi grips you early on with a brutal murder within the first 10 minutes into the film. Terrific acting overall supported well by Neeraj Kabi, Sayoni Gupta, Antoni Aakeel. Technically it is great with the editing and the pacing almost perfect. Director Bornila does a swell job and this movie is not a bad time to pass 1.5 hours.
