| Eidetic is a prime example of pure talent and a production which emphasized Sri Lanka on the map.
Sri Lanka maybe a small island but this country has a vast array of young people with raw talent and that's just astounding. I mean, let it be filmmaking, art, makeovers or sculpting -- our generation consists of insanely talented gems that are rising great heights with limited resources. Imagine the possibilities. If the aforementioned people have the opportunity to craft a production with right tools and necessary help, they'd achieve wonders.

Eidetic is a prime example of pure talent and a production which emphasized Sri Lanka on the map.

This is the first short film in Sri Lanka which was selected to be screened at San Diego Comic-Con, the ultimate geek festival in the world. Eidetic is the result of the combined efforts of High School Junkies led by my good friend Akash Sk. So proud of you, man. He is a person who is mutitalented and stole the attention of a large number of people with his work. Finally he ended up attending SDCC and hosted his own panel there. Frankly, it can't get any better than this.

Finally, I had the opportunity to view Eidetic very recently (was late to the party but it was worth it) and that was an intense quarter-hour -- engaging to the core and had me wanting more. That's what happens when you watch a finely crafted shortfilm which just tickles your inner geek and makes you crave more.

Eidetic was appealing to me for many reasons. As a geek it's obvious that I have an attraction for superhero themed stuff. This shortfilm shares similar strands of DNA with superhero productions such as X-Men and it still manages to stand out as one of a kind because of its commendable cinematography, engaging combat sequences, linear storyline which evokes questions about what comes next and super cool music themes -- ideal for the story.

I'm no professional critic (more of an occasional reviewer). From a geek's viewpoint, Eidetic is fantastic. And from a reviewer's standpoint, it is a well crafted shortfilm.

The scenes that involved violence could have been better mainly because of the fact that blood looked relatively less realistic (too much of Game of Thrones for me I suppose) but that didn't make a big impact on the overall greatness of the shortfilm at all.

All in all, Eidetic is a must watch.

Captivating, fresh and energetic.

Good job, folks.
