Aussie architect Michael scored a job in London, as turns out with flirtatious business acquaintance Victoria's firm, but his lover Sarah prefers the English countryside, so they swap their Melbourne apartment for a month with Cornwall mansion 'Berkeley'. Owner Fergus and his wife Olivia rush off, leaving them to caretaker Albert, who mainly minds the stable, actually to receive an inheritance, but it's not nearly enough to cover heir debts. Sarah initially treats 'nosy' attorney David quite hostile, being engaged by a distant relative who wants to buy the estate and turn it into a conference center, even suspects them of arson at the stable, which she notices just in time to rescue the horses with Albert. She finds him honest and becomes his lover after Michael disapproves of the pair donating £2,000 each for a Cesarean to save the thoroughbred mare and her fowl, which may prove valuable enough after his famous father's untimely death.
