Just watchable and nothing more than that
So let me start with the plot first. Man-Bok (Shim Eun-Kyung) is a high school student. She suffers from severe motion sickness and can't ride any vehicle as a result. As she can't tale the bus to school she has to walk for 2 hours everyday to attend classes which leaves her too tired to focus in classes. When a teacher finds this out she decides that Man-Bok might have a talent for walking as she seems to have a lot of stamina and introduces her to the sports coach. And thus, begins her tryst with the lesser heard sports of "Race walking".
The movie mainly deals with Man-bok's excitement and love for the sport along with the subsequent but the much anticipated frustration. Like any sports flick we her falling in love with the sport, ditching it as it proves too much too handle and finally accepting with an utter determination to succeed.
The acting ranges from bad to OK and who will find yourself grimacing at Eun-kyung Shim's histronics as Nam-Bok more than often. She is 22 years and doesn't make the role of a teenage believable.
Theirs a fair bit of comedy mixed with the film and it provides the much respite in the midst of a over used and clichéd story. But as the film progresses I started getting tired of that as well.
Given a second chance I would definitely avoid this.
