  • Because I love the work of Ann Marie Rios, I watched this low-grade feature from the Video Team label, an outfit geared toward "ethnic" or "urban" porn -pick whichever euphemism you like with the least racist connotation. Like the newer West Coast Productions, they were peddling IR content before it became so glossy and mainstream (c.f., bestsellers currently from blacked.com and the like).

Rios heads a girl gang that seems to have watched too many films starring Michelle Rodriguez and Vin Diesel. They steal high-end cars for a living, but this story concerns there run-ins with Black studs in the same racket, both sexual and violent.

The stupid but obviously commercial title "Spanish Harlem" has nothing to do with the film since it is set in L.A., not Manhattan's East Harlem, but I assume the untalented filmmakers led by prolific hack of all trades Andre Madness conjured it up as uniting Latina femmes with Black dudes.

And they are united in the sack, with only condoms separating their crucial body parts, as Ann Marie and her pals imbibe big black dicks for an hour and a half. Big surprise here is a downbeat mood, almost fatalistic, as one by one our heroines get killed or incarcerated, leaving only Rios standing at the end to recite a sentimental elegy for her departed pals as we watch a group shot of them disappearing right out of old movies like "The Wild Bunch".

The ladies in question including Justine Romee and Lacey perform well, and famous studs of the era like Byron Long and Mr. Marcus hump in their mechanical fashion but have trouble with the acting scenes concerning their temporarily being bested by the unscrupulous gals in the game of stealing someone else's stolen car from under their noses. Unless you have the compulsion to see all of Rios's work (I plead guilty) give this loser a pass.
