This anime series is centred on Hotaru Tachibana; she is is president of her school council and has a strong sense of justice. She also always wears a boy's uniform and looks boyish. Incidents lead to her meeting Masamune Matsuoka; a young man who works as a host and enjoys playing Airsoft survival games... a sport where teams shoot at each other with low-powered weapons that fire plastic pellets. He invites her to join his team, 'Toy Gun Gun'... Hotaru soon realises that he thinks she is a boy; she also learns that due to a previous event he won't allow girls on his team. Also on the team is Tooru; a creator or erotic manga who is surprised that Hotaru isn't interested in his work! As the series progresses Hotaru grows to enjoy the survival games and must face the rival player who caused Masamune to stop allowing girls on his team.

The setup of this series sounds like a typical reverse harem show but it manages to avoid most of the tropes associated with that genre. Instead it is a sports anime where Hotaru's gender is merely something that adds to the drama. First as she tries to hide the fact that she is a girl and later as she ponders whether to tell her team mates. The action is enjoyably and dynamic even if characters have a habit of talking to each other rather than immediately shooting when they have somebody in their sights... clearly they haven't hear Tuco's advice in 'The Good, The Bad and The Ugly'... 'When you have to shoot; shoot don't talk'! Our protagonists are likeable and the villain is fairly despicable. The animation and character designs are good. The ending does leave some questions unanswered. Overall I'd recommend this to anime fans looking for a fun series without fan service.

I think she is just an inspiration for women out there who do play popular male dominated sports such as for the likes of paintball(of course women can play too!). She really is a badass and like honestly, regardless if she's a boy or not, she was such a brillant candidate to be able to whip the enemy's ass especially Masamune's lol! I just love her sense of humour and her bravery for not backing down on the paintball game when they were arguing about something . Mind you, it is a pretty tough sport when you're hit several times by the enemy and of course you're left with sore small bruises. I don't think I've played the sport before but I've seen others get a lotta bruises and they last for days so, I'm definately not part of the posse lol.

I also love the fact she isn't afraid to dress tomboyish and likes to play the game of tricking the guys in a clever way that makes them think shes a girl. The scene where she was found out that she was going to the women's changing room by Tooru made me honestly frightened for her. I really thought he was going to expose her and that kinda would spoil the story because I felt in my personal opinon, it kinda lightens the mood that they wouldn't find out that's shes a chick after all. I mean let's be honest, it lightens up the story and it gives more questions in your head to when she'll actually tell the guys shes a girl. It really needed that in my opinon..

This anime was so hyped anyway that I was actually screaming for more then 12 episodes. I really would love to have see how Hotaru got on further with her life including her friendship with the lads.

Great anime, great characters and storyline (apart from the cliffhanger), I give it 9/10
