  • This is actually a really good prequel, reveals almost nothing about the plot, builds suspense and horror, and gives you a connection to the characters. Actually, I wish all studios would make prologues instead of trailers. Prologues set up the story without spoiling anything. Anyway, with this cast and cinematography, the actual film might be a better entry in the Alien universe, better than Prometheus that is.

Like this scene. It builds more character amongst the crew. They're crew and family. But I don't like how the choking was just shoehorned into the scene as a call back to Alien. They're about to start their journey and the scene is implying that she already has a chestburster in her? Just seems very missed placed. They literally wasted James Franco and his talents in this movie. Not tie this to the movie is bad decision, at least put it on the last for Daniels flashback before she go hypersleep. Obviously this should've never been excluded from the story because most of the characters are expendable and unmemorable. This short time with these characters had more context and purpose than anything this half-witted story "attempted" after Prometheus. I'm also bothered about James Franco and Danny McBride somehow being the selling points but neither of these buffoons are given anything meaningful to do. At the end, these characters were either really stupid or just there to be savagely murdered by aggressive extraterrestrials.
  • Ridley never smiles. The movie shows why, but I won't give away anything. Visually amazing, this is now the standard for Riddy now. Storyline did have a lot of twists that some were and others not so good. All in all a good story and visuals. Could've had a better ending, without giving anything away. It certainly is a niche market audience for these types of movies...don't watch while eating....but still decent.

Okay, these prologues are kind of annoying. Especially when you have to hunt them down. Just put all of them into the movie or edit it down. Will make the overall experience much more enjoyable.

Instead, just leaves a bad taste in the mouth . . .

"Prologue: Last Supper" is a 4.5-minute live action short film that was released in February 2017, so pretty recently. It follows the action of Ridley Scott's "Prometheus" and takes pace before his new movie. Fittingly, the director is Luke Scott, son of Ridley, and an aspiring (Sci-Fi) filmmaker in his own right, even if he certainly still has to prove himself. What I have seen from him so far is not that impressive and I am not sure he'd have a career without his famous dad. Anyway, this one here includes many faces and characters (such as Oscar nominees Fassbender, Bichir and Franco) that you will see in "Alien: Covenant" as well. But the action in this pretty short film is mostly comedy. Seemingly serious situations like a virus and a character's breathing problems get resolved when we find out that it's just the problem that some food got in the wrong pipe. Nothing too spectacular or entertaining or relevant and I guess it's only worth seeing for those who really can't wait for another two months until the next Ridley Scott project hits theaters.

In my Opinion, one of the worst films in the franchise. Not the worst. But it's made that list. Such a let down after the ending "Prometheus". That film left you with so many Questions and to much promise. This film squanders it all away. What a shame.

It's just an introductory short film. Kudos to LGBTQIA+ visibility and that's all.
