  • Remember back to 1992 and the "Material Girl" the one and only "Madonna" as when she came out with this hit she caused a firestorm as the words and images of this hit "Erotica" were outspoken and they pushed the censor limits! Still the song was a top 10 hit and the video got plenty of "MTV" airplay. "Erotica" has images and words that are clearly promoting sex and passions in the strongest forms from "S and M" to bondage, whips, and leather and the video footage shows glimpses of the material girl in lingerie and one shot she's even nude. Made in black and white and done in Super 8 form the video is eye opening as it pays homage to "Madonna's" album and her go along "Sex Book" release. Overall outspoken song and video one that's revealing and kinky as the material girl for sure showed her intimate and wild erotic style side with this 1992 hit!
  • Oh man as a guy growing up Mrs. Ciccone was like the most beautiful/sexiest person ever to me. Her whole combination of voice/looks/attitude/personality. Her videos like this were sexier then watching any adult related tapes. Still today in it's my blood I'll always find her attractive/appealing no matter what she morphs into.

This era 1992-1993 for Madonna was like the height of her sexual persona. The video itself showed footage of her Sex book.

The song isn't my favorite but listenable. I find it ironic watching the video today while still all about sexuality/fantasy it seems rather tame and intelligent. Especially when you compare it to hip hop videos today all about not subtly rubbing it in your face. But this video only aired a few times after midnight.

Where Life Begins was another song off the Erotica album with a similar vain. About sex but done in a classy/artistic way.

    8/10.
  • Warning: Spoilers
These slightly over five minutes we got here are the music video for the Madonna song Erotica that was released back in 1992, so it is already over 25 years old. The director of this partially b&w short film is Fabien Baron and he worked with Madonna on several occasions. Apart from the cast list that includes some big names for sure (won't name them, you find them yourself), there is nothing outstanding about this music video though. The fact that its sexual component may have been controversial for the early 90s. As of today, it has not aged too well. The song has 1 or 2 okay and catchy moments, the chorus mostly perhaps, but it also is not enough for this pretty short running time. So yeah, not much positive I can say about this one. There are some Madonna songs and videos I genuinely love, but this is not one of them. Gotta give it a thumbs-down and also I see no real reason why listening to the song instead of watching the video isn't enough. Overall, not a failure, but far away from the level where I'd recommend it. Not even worth seeing for fans of the stars in here as you blink and they're gone.
