Video Game | Action, War
You play various American servicemen and their allies in World War II as the Western Allies fight their way through Europe during and after the invasion of Normandy.
Matt Riedy played General MacDonnell in Call of Duty Advanced Warfare, which of course was the last Call of Duty game made by Sledgehammer Games.
How many casualties?
Sgt. Pierson: We executed the mission.
Lt. Turner: How many?
Sgt. Pierson: Our instructions were to take this hill!
Lt. Turner: You should've waited for us!
Sgt. Pierson: There wasn't time.
Lt. Turner: What about our men?
Sgt. Pierson: We had orders!
Lt. Turner: To hell with our goddamn orders!
Sgt. Pierson: You think I wanted any of this? Huh?...
During the opening narration of the D Day assault, while the camera pans over the battleship Texas executing a shore bombardment fire mission, you can see to radar antennae spinning in the masts. Radar was in its infancy at this time, and while Texas had received one of the first radars in the US Navy in 1939, emitters of the era looked like satellite dishes, not the spinning rectangle we are familiar with today.
