Four lifelong friends have their lives forever changed after reading 50 Shades of Grey in their monthly book club.
In the movie, Mary Steenburgen's character and Craig T. Nelson's character are in the car while he has an erection due to Viagra. She bends down in the seat to look closer, and he veers off the road and gets pulled over by a police officer. In Parenthood, her character tries to do the same thing to a "fuller extent" to her husband in that movie, Steve Martin, and ends up wrecking the car and getting pulled over by a police officer as well. Craig T. Nelson played in the television version of the movie.

When Diane/ Diane Keaton meets Mitchell/ Andy Garcia meet in the plane and she sits next to him and they talk, her hair changes a couple of times between shots (mostly normal but twice behind her ear)
During the end credits the black and white snapshot of the four ladies as young girls is seen again. Then the four leading ladies recreate the photo, the shutter clicks and a black and white still frame of the four ageing ladies is seen.
