  • I discovered this anime (yes, I'm calling it anime) through YouTube anime analyst; and I'm very happy he recommended it.

Basicly the story is that of a game master for an MMO called "Glory" is starting over with e new character. He progresses through the game, helping other players along the way to clear raids and grow stronger.

In real life, an experienced player with a new/weak game avatar can still do a lot of damage thanks to his knowledge and understanding of the game... but this story tries putting the absolute best player in the world into a new avatar... and that is pretty much what you get with the show... and I loved it! But I understand that maybe its not some people's cup of tea.

The main character is the focus of the story, but the show does a great job making me care about the supporting cast. Many different personalities and classes of fighters, they got that part down very well. (SAO... I'm looking at you... learn from this show!)

The Kings Avatar truly impressed me with its battle choreography and animation.

The art is beautiful, and has a unique taste that can be seen 30 seconds into episode 1. Some of the show is done with 3D animation, but it's done pretty well except in a few areas, but overall I liked how they did it.

I really hope this anime gets an English dub soon... I did have to go back and pause some of the subtitles because they went too fast... you also might want to have a basic understanding of MMOs, but the show does a good job of explaining some of the game machanics and meanings, so it's not necessary .

Very much worth the viewing. Great Job China! Keep them coming!
  • The King's Avatar is a donghua (Chinese anime) revolving around a multiplayer online video game called Glory. We get to watch a likable character who is almost a god of this game start all over with a new character and we get to see his new journey to domination. It's got a good story-line having drama, comedy and tragedy. Although what really makes it work are the production values, really well made animation although it is 3D I still enjoyed it a ton. Another stand out point is the target audience being adults instead of kids. Well I am hooked, watched the Season 1 & 2 along with specials, looking forward to a new season.
  • Warning: Spoilers
This is my first ever Chinese anime I've ever come accross and thanks to Youtube, I was able to watch the whole thing! I can't tell you how the visuals and the animations were absouletely jaw dropping with such taste of epicness. Kinda reminds me of Your Name lol

The characters were even well done, especially with Ye Xiu as the badass swordsman that he is. I guess he was right to give up his old character and be to create a new one from scratch. Although it's interesting that he physically gave it to someone rather then just delete online. I know he had the card but I mean, it's so unrealistic but totally cool at the same time!

Loved the fighting scenes, I give this great Chinese anime a 8/10! I bet the creator's of Sword Art Online, Overlord and many other video game inspired anime from Japan, are trying their hardest to get ahead of China! That's not to say neither of them aren't good, just different!
  • It's so underrated on IMDb it's animation is just stunning and how the story is shown is just a masterpiece. I found it one of the best anime and worth watching. I didn't get bored for a moment while I was watching this anime. I don't know why it's underrated this much. But if you haven't watched it so I will recommend to watch it now, you won't regret it.
  • The story and drama is all right but they commit the cheap fallacy of reusing the same animation constantly to stretch the scenes which makes it pretty annoying starting episode 2.

Characters are probably the most interesting part of this series.

Overall it's not bad. Unfortunately it is not good either.
  • It's was good at the start but after that . It wasn't that good .
