Good Story - Good Message - bad screenplay resulting in waste of time watching it
It is easier to rate or review but difficult to make a good movie.
please do not screw up with IMDB rating. A lot of people rely on it to gauge whether their movie watching time would be well worth it.
This movie does not reflect its high rating unfortunately.
It is not enough if one has a novel idea in mind about making a movie. It needs good visualization of the plot to come up with a good screenplay as well as execute it appropriately.
Character introduction for Dattatreya was good.
Flashback narration resulting in his current situation is acceptable way of cutting through the movie making budget and time.
"Middle class" mentality is highlighted.
However the screenplay takes too much time to get to the plot. It is also spoiled by additional character introductions that were not relevant enough. For example, the FIU officer is needlessly given a "hero" like entry and his attempt fizzles out and renders him helpless.
Unemployed Bachelor story was given too much importance and it sways the rhythm from the main plot.
Scared of death and consequences, Venkatesh Murthy character suddenly starts acting like Nasiruddeen Shah from movie "Wednesday".
Criminal minded villian Naidu acts helpless in front of him, though it is shown that he can go even to the lengths of killing someone.
Movie ends with a "documentary" like message as if it was done in a hurry.
Dubbing also faltered with other characters in the initial part of the movie. Character expression and dialogue delivery appeared out of sync.
Script to screenplay to execution requires fine craftsmanship and a lot of visualization.
I did watch this movie for Dattatreya.
Lakshman Shivashankar as "Naidu" will be a memorable character for me.
Unfortunately IMDB's cast and crew list doesn't have other names of the cast. It would be good if it is added.
