This movie is a waste of time and money. Very poor and simplistic jokes, with feces being thrown away (is this funny??!!!!), midgets, and fat women. No ideas, poor car chases (especially compared with the fast and furious)... Bad actors, bad screenplay, bad filming, stereotypical parts, just a crap..

Every time its just a little bit move in the STORY you get a "really bad" joke up in your face..... Only good thing is when the White Peugeot is Driving... GO FAR AWAY for this movie Watch one of the 4 "original" French TAXI movies instead YOU WILL be SAD SORRY and SICK if you insist to see TAXI 5...

irwinthedj7 August 2018I was also happy to hear that the 5th part of one of my favorite movies is coming out. But as a saw the picture I was nearly crying of disappointment. What have you done with the wonderful story? Who the hell are all those strange people you are trying to sell as new acts? What happened with the pour ones who are still playing in the movie now? In previous movies Gibert has looked like a silly but very brave and passionate man - now he looks like an idiot. And the biggest question - how, for God's sake, could Luc Besson be a part of this odd piece of garbage? Who wrote all those endless stupid jokes for them? It's not funny at all, it's just weird and disgusting like laughing about handicaps. Where is the charme of Marseille, strong, brave men, beautiful french women, professionally filmed chases, story twists...? Nothing of these left, everything was substituted by cheap plastic imitation. The storyline is as straight and linear as a stick, all actions are either predestinated or boundlessly dumb... At the and I want to add - hey, Luc, I have an idea for you - what about to add a background laughing and give all the actors red clown noses and huge shoes? It would at least give a coup de grâce to a wonderful film franchise, you have unexpectedly misused and trampled into mud.

I was really excited to watch this movie because I loved all the Taxi movies until now, and actually, the begining of taxi 5 is really great (have the fast&furious feeling) but them the interest and quality of the story decreases after every single minute... believe in me if you want to keep your good memories from that movies, please don't watch this movie, because it will be the most boring movie, with no funny fails that you will see!
The only reason that I did't gave one star, it's because I keep respect for the old taxi movies. -
Aktham_Tashtush14 August 2018So the movie is nice ,, still same story .. police officer team up with a driver to catch criminals ... this time it was different team than we used to in the last four movies,, Samy Naceri and Frédéric Diefenthal but other characters came back like Commissaire Gibert and Alain ,,, I mean i wished they could like appeared as guests but they apparently grew up for such roles ,, Marion Cotillard hasan oscar now :D
Anyway ,, the movie is nice and there was that comedy mixed with stupidity lines ... which what made the whole Taxi movies popular .
The new cast were good ,, this is not the first time Franck Gastambide and Malik Bentalha team up ,, they worked on Pattaya and they were hilarious too.
There was a scene at the end implies that this will be the last Taxi movie so if you are "Taxi" fan, watch it, it's Recommended. -

First of all, do not expect to see anyone of the main cast. Except one or two of the support cast. The movie is very unfunny and sad. Chaotic. Most scenes make no sense... at all. I can't see why Luc Besson got involved with this garbage, even just as a screen writer. There is nothing funny. Some scenes are even repulsive. Only a 5 year old can but will probably not laugh at this movie...
Sadly I had big expectations... -
geireivind8 March 2019Given all the time since the last, you knew it was not going to be the same as the previous ones and let us be honest, Taxi 4 was not that great. It have went from great to silly. So well, I expected something between that and the crappy american version.
One glaring omission was that there are no Samy Naceri. The lack of his persona and wit made Taxi as fun as it was. Franck Gastambide does a good job of being a cocky driver and have his own charm so they found a replacement that wasn't a copy which was good.
The other crew was also a bit in the silly nature of the series. A few of homages and flashbacks to the previous movies was also there. And a few trademarks of the series. That they cast Bernard Farcy was pretty crucial to getting the right feel. I have to say when he appeared I had to smile.
So the story progressed from interesting to a bit dull when it was building up but when it got going, it was in pure Taxi style.
Expect a slightly slow to really fire up but pretty enjoyable, extremely silly and quirky movie that had some great car action bits and quite a few moments that one might chuckle over. It's no Taxi 2, but if you want more of the same it's that by a good margin. You might have grown out of the humor during the past ten years but if you always have room for something silly it'll be good.
I hope there will be a number 6 because I'd love to see what they do now that they have established a new setting and doesn't have that buildup to take screen time. -

The movie feels like a scientific cocktail; similar ingredients from the previous films are being used (comedy/car chases/character stereotypes) and mixed together but the final taste doesnt have the fine and exquisit natural taste as the real thing. The story is totally lacking, the supposedly fun scenes arent funny: the usual word twists are completely missing. Some scenes make no sense at all. The romance of the main actors Has no feeling to it, in fact its so plain that it completely cuts what little suspense there is. At some point they/police know where the bad guys live, but for unknown reason do not aprehend them. The scene with the cars piling on makes no sense; its like stupid lemmings driving into the mess. Also. Every other taxi film has its own theme, while for taxi 5 its practically the same theme as nr 1 except with a few roles reversed. The support roles in previous films where much more credible ie police officers looking as police officers but a little wacky, while here its as if they went to an asylum as none are credible as police officers.

In fact, it is one of the best comedies I have seen lately. 0% percent regret I paid the cinema ticket

This new departure is not finally dishonorable for the franchise. On the contrary. It is a successful new beginning. With of course a good dose of the ingredients of the recipe: humor (more or less pachydermic) and action sequences combining spectacular and humor, based on car chases. And they use one of the ingredients of the previous ones: Bernard Farcy. But there is also Edouard Montoute, which is a good idea, his phlegm bringing what is needed to the team of municipal police.
Things are a bit more scatological. And more controlled. Which makes this fourth of the franchise still recommendable and maintains the level of the franchise. The acting, the technical elements, the story, all lead to a sequel that has its own reason to exist. And it works. -

finaleffect22 August 2018The movie has all of the crazy shenanigans of the previous movies but the taxi driver that cant drive and police officer that can kinda messes up the "Taxi" dynamic . If you take the movie as the joke/comedy that it is, it does what it is supposed to as it is very entertaining although it sometimes becomes to serious for a ridiculous movie. I have rated the movie with 6/10 Stars not because it is bad but the loss of Daniel and Emilien dynamic was what gave the previous movies their charm. The new actors do bring something new to the table but it still feels off. The decision from the studio to put in a ridiculous car pileup that the series is known for is understandable, BUT the scene was kinda forced and the movie felt like mishmash of rejected plots from the previous installments.
Also NO the the "New Taxi" at the end. it has to be a Peugeot or at the very least be a french car and not a Mercedes. -

Unfortunately, this film is good enough without them. Now they sever "Daniel" and "Emilien" from Taxi series, we can see the star is the Taxi itself. The movies are good. Your usual Taxi series quips and comedy are there. The high speed chase is there too, a lot longer than Taxi 4, and definitely more interesting than Fast Furious series. -
