  • I give movies 20 minutes to see if they're drawing me in or not with an absorbing story, and 20 minutes was all i could stand of this, the thumb/cover image was far more entertaining. The "efforts", masquerading as "movies" these days is laughable.

Amateurish, dull, uninteresting, void of any realness, like a school play put to screen, how on earth did this get over a 7 in ratings? Who is rating these ridiculous attempts at "movies".

There are few movies these days that will hold your attention throughout, this isn't one of them, no way. If you go beyond 20 minutes theres nothing upstairs.

    Warning: Spoilers
Arabella (Kate Palmerston) wants to be a designer, but no one wants her designs. She resigns herself to be a personal shopper.assistant to author Marilyn Charterhouse. Marilyn (Claudine Helen) has an abusive husband and cheats on him. She also loves kinky sex. Arabella is drawn into her world with disastrous results.

Film is very cliche and predictable. Characters didn't make it. Extra star because Kate Palmerston is baby doll.

Guide. F-word, sex, nudity (Kate Palmerston + extra)

Arabella Childs (Keely Cat Wells ) desires to be a designer and can not break into the industry. In order to pay the bills, she becomes a personal shopper for Marylin Blacklock-Charterhouse (Claudine-Helene Aumord). Marilyn writes erotic novels for women and spends all day doing research while her husband is away. Arabella gets involved.

This film runs on the success of "50 Shades..." i.e. female soft porn. Like 50 Shades the acting and writing were a joke.

Guide: F-word, sex, and nudity (Claudine-Helene Aumord, Keely Cat Wells, Tiffany-Ellen Robinson + extra)

This is some of the worst acting i have seen in years. None of the actors fits their parts and they all speak like they are reading their lines from a script in a theatre rehearsal... waste of bloody time.

    1/10
    Sick
This movie was the biggest waste of my time. It is also made by someone who is mentally ill and totally not worth watching.

Light weight entertainment with a couple of little kinky bits thrown in. I see weird people!!
  • Every part of movie was predictable and cast was worst. No storyline and no direction just a couple of people trying to live. Feeling like wasted my time. Thank you.
  • Norm MacDonald attempts a new kind of role, which didn't really work out. If you are a deeply closeted gay man, this movie is not for you.
  • The song is about 10:00 plz help me to find that song and singer plz

Total waste of time, even if it's just over an hour long. I feel for the actors who aren't even the worst, it's just that the inept writing and directing that drag this garbage into the deepest depths of the unwatchable abyss. Avoid!

Brit attempt to ride the 50 Shades express that is equally reminiscent of 1990s erotic thrillers and the 1970s swinging suburb fixations of Derek Ford, some Jackie Collins worthy dialogue too "his personality is as vibrant as a hippopotamus' arse*ole"

Considering that the director's subsequent horror films have been rather coy when it comes to nudity and sexuality, Dirty Work is a surprisingly explicit movie, far more so in fact than the 50 Shades series whose (BDSM) party this is trying to gate crash. Claudine-Helene Aumord, a Barbara Steele type, does most of the heavy lifting when it comes to the female nudity, but there's something for the ladies here too, namely a succession of well oiled abs and more buns than your local branch of Greggs.
  • I read some of the reviews before watching it and rolled the dice anyway.

I went in not expecting much and was actually pleasantly surprised.

While the acting was not great it wasn't bad, while I don't want to give anything away, I do want to share what appealed to me.

I found; I grew to like Arabella's character. I found to some degree art imitating life, as Arabella's choice at the end is so telling as to how a lot of people go right back to life making the same choices that are not the best for us. Putting ourselves on the very same track of trouble.

While obviously this film with its sexual content will turn some people off others will be quite turned on by its erotic allure.

Marylin's character was so manipulative. She brought a necessary dynamic to the table that played Arabella right into her hands.

I'm a very easily pleased film enthusiast and usually the last person to critique a film very negatively, but this is one of the worst films I've ever seen. The acting was horrendously bad, one of the main actresses butchering nearly every line she had to the point that she was sometimes unintelligible.

In terms of the submissive and dominant representation, it was extremely poor. It didn't express that relationship dynamic and played into this inaccurate cliche that the dominant was cold hearted and self serving, and that the submissive was a conscious-less puppet with barely two braincells to rub together.

In terms of the plot it could have saved the film a little if the ending was so badly tacked on; we as viewers are meant to believe that one minute the mistress was a using, back stabbing monster to then suddenly genuinely concerned about her submissive after framing her, and thus an insane and unbelievable reunion.

And the cherry on top; a film that's supposed to be about kinksters features some of the blandest and most uninspired sex you've ever witnessed. Fifty Shades, which is widely regarded as mediocre at best, was far more titillating.

    Dreadful.
  • No pun intended - I had no idea what I was letting myself into. Which I reckon is also true for our main character here. Though I would like to believe that most people who watch this will know what is up. Her best friend on the other hand ... well if you are missing her at some point, do not try to overthink it.

The movie is quite sexual to say the least. And it has 50 shades of grey written all over itself. Although to be fair, it does not have that many shades to it. So I understand if you dislike the movie to say the least. It boils down to, what you expect from this I reckon. As an erotic thriller it works - even with the subpar acting that you get served. It is about the substance - and where it leads us to. We know where this is going, but there is still one final twist if you want to call it that, that was quite surprising I have to admit .. on the other hand it goes to show you human nature.
