When it comes to preparing for roles and giving auditions, every actor wants to be at their very best and Zendaya is no exception to that. Starting off as a child actress, she has seen growth not only in her own talent but also in the quality of movies and TV shows she has transitioned into.
From Shake It Up and K.C. Undercover to Dune and Euphoria, there has been not a single moment of doubt when it comes to such a talented actress.

When getting some of the best roles, there is a strong chance that her previously established fame played a role stronger than many would realize. However, the same was not the case for Spider-Man: Homecoming. Her audition story for Tom Holland’s trilogy was perhaps the most mundane she has ever been seen.

A Spanish police officer’s life is about to turn upside down as she infiltrates a dangerous lion’s den in the exclusive new teaser trailer for Arantxa Echevarría’s upcoming crime thriller “Undercover.” The film arrives in Spanish cinemas on Oct. 11 courtesy of Beta Fiction Spain.
“Undercover” is based on the real-life story of Aranzazu Berradre Marín, the pseudonym for the only police officer in Spanish history to infiltrate the terrorist organisation Eta successfully. The Basque nationalist separatist group killed over 829 people between 1968 and 2010 and injured over 22,000 until its dissolution in 2018.
The film, written by Echevarría and Amèlia Mora, takes place over the eight-year period when Marín was infiltrated and focuses on the mind-shattering fear of discovery that permeated her days during the mission.
The Goya-winning “Carmen and Lola” director reunites with Carolina Yuste, who stars as the undercover agent and plays alongside three-time Goya-winning actor Luis Tosar.

The world knows Zendaya today for being one of the biggest and most sought-after stars in the entertainment industry. She has consistently been part of some of the most exceptional projects, both the big and silver screen has seen in recent years.
But before all that fame and glory, the actress had started her journey into films and TV shows as a young Disney star.
Zendaya in a still from Dune: Part Two
The show she’s known for that made her climb the ladder to the top was her role as the titular protagonist of K.C. Undercover. But unlike most stars who try to conform themselves to their character, Zendaya had a different approach.
When she was offered the role in the series, she laid out clear instructions for the production on what they could and couldn’t make her character do in the series or she may have not taken it at all.

Hilarity ensued on Abbott Elementary, as per usual. The show continues to improve while finding the perfect balance of sarcastic quips and inspiring moments.
The show is at its best when the characters each have moments to shine, and they did shine.
Abbott Elementary Season 2 Episode 17 had multiple storylines that kept the viewers connected and engaged. Their bond and chemistry are apparent in every scene, and the fans will continue to return for this fantastic group of educators -- and Ava.
Jacob, a passionate educator, applied for a prestigious arts program and was approved. They would be able to design a mural that would last a lifetime.
He did not, however, expect their mural to be of sock puppets. His disdain for their new cultural icons was hysterical. As much as Jacob wants to be cool, woke, and on-trend -- he could not approve a mural featuring sock puppets with a distinct language.

Rome’s Mia Market for TV series, feature films, documentaries and factual content wrapped a watershed 7th edition on Sunday, having boosted its standing on the global calendar as a prominent emerging industry hub in Europe.
In a significant indicator of the Eternal City’s Oct. 13-17 event’s restart relevance Mia, organizers on the final day announced a total of 2,000 industry executives from 56 countries, all of whom attended the new-concept market in-person, while there were only 46 online attendees, mostly from Asia and Latin America due to coronavirus constraints that impeded travel to Italy from those countries.
While the Oct. 11-14 Mipcom market in Cannes suffered a reduced presence – and the AFM this year has gone entirely online – Mia reaped the benefits of being conceived more congenially to how the global content industry is evolving because it offered a wide range of product, plenty of which in early stages.

Whenever a film begins with a disclaimer asserting that the story you’re about to see is fictional — and furthermore, that what shall unfold on-screen “should not be considered a reflection of a reality” — it’s hard not to go in assuming the exact opposite. Why protest so much if there’s no factual basis there? In the case of “Undercover,” our skepticism is precisely the filmmakers’ intent: That introductory, legally obligatory text could hardly make its irony any clearer with actual scare quotes. Names have been changed, but anyone familiar with the headlines can tell that Thierry de Peretti’s no-frills, teeth-gritted procedural thriller has been drawn from the real-life case of former French anti-narcotics chief Francois Thierry, charged in 2017 with complicity in large-scale drug smuggling using police resources. It’s a sensational affair that de Peretti treats with sober practicality, emulating the patient investigative techniques of the journalist...

Female directors and actors reigned supreme at tonight’s San Sebastian Film Festival awards ceremony, with the Romanian actor-turned-director Alina Grigore taking the Golden Shell for Best Film for her intimate debut feature “Blue Moon.” The film, a raw realist study of a young woman attempting to free herself from an abusive rural household, was an unexpected winner, besting a number of higher-profile auteur films in the festival’s main competition. Yet a full spectrum was covered: At the opposite end of the celebrity scale, Jessica Chastain was one of two Best Leading Performance winners for “The Eyes of Tammy Faye.”
This was the second year in a row that a first-time female filmmaker took the festival’s top prize. Last year, Georgian writer-director Dea Kulumbegashvili swept the board for her debut “Beginning,” which won the Golden Shell in addition to Best Director, Actress and Screenplay. Thanks in part to his work with auteurs Benoit Jacquot, Claire Denis and Stéphane Brizé, Vincent Lindon had long become something of a festival-world habitué, a sturdy and reliable fixture on the international circuit. But even with well over two decades’ red carpet experience, nothing could quite prepare the French actor for what he cheekily calls this year’s “grand slam.”

Starring Jessica Chastain and Andrew Garfield, “The Eyes of Tammy Faye” will receive its European premiere at late September’s San Sebastian Festival.
The biggest film event in the Spanish-speaking world will open with the anticipated “One Second” from China’s Zhang Yimou, which was dramatically pulled from competition at the 69th Berlin Film Festival.
Both titles play in competition, vying for San Sebastian’s top film plaudit, its Golden Shell, where they are joined by French filmmaker Thierry de Peretti’s “Undercover.”
Recounting the rise, fall and redemption of Tammy Faye, the indomitable wife of televangelist Jim Bakker, “The Eyes of Tammy Faye” weighs in as the only U.S. movie in San Sebastian main competition.
It catches Chastain on a high as she will receive the TIFF Tribute Actor Award, coinciding with the premiere at Toronto of the film.

Spain’s San Sebastian Festival has set Zhang Yimou’s Chinese epic One Second as the opening film for its competition program this year. The screening will mark the film’s international premiere.
The film has had a rocky road to the international festival circuit. It was originally selected to debut at the Berlinale in 2019 but was abruptly withdrawn at the last minute due to “technical difficulties”. It was widely understood that the film had been removed due to pressure from the Chinese government.
After reshoots, the movie was cleared for release in China in November last year, though it only grossed $10M, an underwhelming figure for a high-profile title that was seen as having potential for international recognition. Since then, the pic was announced as the closing film of Toronto, and Neon boarded U.S. rights.

Fasten your seat belts for this high-octane Hong Kong crime story. In Undercover Punch & Gun (aka Undercover Vs. Undercover), Wu (Philip Ng) is an undercover cop, firmly embedded in the upper echelon of the local smuggling and drug trade. There are several factions with tenuous associations and rivalries, all poised to switch on short notice. Or less. As is often the case, Wu not only faces the constant concern over having his cover blown, but, as is often the case for these dramas, develops personal relations with some of his targets that add layers to the suspense.
Don’t worry about the story; nothing new intended or to be found there. It’s all a setup for the slew of action sequences which are a whole ’nother matter. But for those who care about such things, Wu stays undercover for...

"How would I know you were undercover?" Well Go USA has released their official US trailer for a Hong Kong martial arts action film titled Undercover Punch & Gun, on VOD in the US this June. This already opened in China back in 2019, and it also goes under the strange title Undercover vs. Undercover. It's about two rival police agencies being forced to team up together after a drug trade goes wrong. Undercover police Wu, played by Philip Ng, teams up with unlikely allies in order to fight a major drug dealer and take down a drug smuggling ring. The full cast also includes Vanness Wu, Andy On, Chi Shuai, Joyce Feng, Aaron Aziz, Kitty Jiang, and Aka Chio. This didn't get the best reviews when it originally opened, made by two screenwriters both directing for their first time here. But at least the fight scenes look like fun, that rad spin around them shot.

Call us intrigued! People say that a good first impression is the very important and it seems that certainly is true with Radhika Apte new film’s first look. Titled, Mrs. Undercover, the very cool poster certainly has audiences wanting to know more about this spy-entertainer!
Check it out!
Director Anushree Mehta talks about the film and shares, “It is surreal to take this initial step and share the first look of our film with the world. We believe in giving quality content to the viewers and have tried very hard to achieve that with Mrs. Undercover. The title, the poster, the imagery is a long-thought process to make people excited. This project is a special one for me and I am so glad that I found an actor like Radhika Apte to play the titular character. Looking forward to seeing how the audience will react to the forthcoming glimpses we have of the film.

Zendaya’s career is skyrocketing after her Emmy win for “Euphoria” in September and rave first reactions over the weekend for “Malcolm & Marie,” for which she’s being touted as a major Oscar contender for Best Actress. The Netflix-backed “Malcolm & Marie” is the brainchild of Zendaya and her “Euphoria” creator Sam Levinson. When production on “Euphoria” Season 2 was delayed in March on account of the pandemic, the two started brainstorming ideas for a project that could be pulled off safely in quarantine. Levinson’s first thought was “a twisty meta-Disney thriller,” as revealed in Zendaya’s new GQ magazine cover story.
“I was just on the pavement outside in my backyard because I didn’t have outdoor furniture yet, talking to Sam,” Zendaya told the magazine. “He’s like, ‘What if we did something almost like a horror movie where you’ve lost it because you still think you’re on K.

November is the last month of the year for sensible viewing, before our TV screens become full-time broadcasters of golden retrievers saving Christmas and Will Ferrell wearing tights. Take the opportunity then, to get some good stuff in before the festivities.
In terms of good stuff, Netflix is offering the second series of the brilliantly wry and surprisingly touching The End of the F***ing World for any UK viewers who didn’t catch it on Channel 4. There’s also the excellent animated feature Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (we loved it. 5 stars.) as well as Boots Riley’s inventive, funny, political satire Sorry to Bother You (we also loved it. 4.5 stars.) On top of that, you can take a nostalgic trip to Capeside with all six seasons of Dawson’s Creek or watch emotionally repressed royals deal with the advent of the 1980s in season four of The Crown.

For the rest of this month, the focus for both the multitude of streaming services on offer and their subscribers will be on content designed to scare you out of your seat as the buildup to Halloween continues. However, almost as soon as the clock strikes midnight on the spookiest day of the year, the focus will immediately shift to Christmas.
Each year a countless barrage of festive movies and TV shows are released, but very few of them manage to penetrate the public consciousness and elevate themselves into the pantheon of all-time greats like It’s a Wonderful Life, Home Alone, Scrooged, The Muppets Christmas Carol, White Christmas, A Christmas Story and depending on your personal opinion, Die Hard.
As the world’s leading platform, Netflix are obviously going to go heavy on the festive angle once again, but November also brings the release of several major titles from a variety of different genres,...

"You're not well... You don't even seem to realize that." IFC Midnight has revealed the first official trailer for a "psychological thriller rippling with suspense" titled Kindred, from filmmaker Joe Marcantonio. This one is skipping out on October entirely, and opening at the beginning of November this fall. Kindred follows vulnerable mother-to-be Charlotte, played by Tamara Lawrance, as she is taken in by her recently deceased boyfriend's mother and her step-son, who seem increasingly obsessed with her every move. Soon plagued by strange hallucinations, Charlotte's suspicions grow about Margaret and Thomas' intentions for her unborn child. The cast includes Fiona Shaw, Jack Lowden, Edward Holcroft, Chloe Pirrie, & Anton Lesser. This looks extra discomforting and intense, especially when all the weird things start happening in the second half of the trailer. Definitely worth a look. Here's the first official trailer for Joe Marcantonio's Kindred, direct from IFC's YouTube: When...
