It's not everyday that a bright comedian shine! and the day Deray Davis went on stage to do his Netflix special, was sure not one of them.

Deray is using the old card of being a black man in America to bring his old hacky material, that we all heard before. His show is like seeing a big intimidating black man trying to impersonate Eddie Murphy raw just with out the charisma, the talent or the fun feel. being proud that black man are natural in stealing, Deray scrap the bottom of the barrel for bringing cheap laughs to the table. in his eyes you can see he is not a guy that liked to be made fun of but he is taking it for the fame...

As long as the super liberal in Netflix keep putting diversity first before talent, expect more horseshit stand up shows to come to us in the future, in the meantime do yourself a favor and skip this one...

An excellent performance, black comedian & mainly black audience, I expected a black oriented show. He rose above that and delivered an excellent, unbiased, funny take on events that often divide people. At times putting black people before a mirror, the audience loved him and I admire him for his balanced view on those events.

Class Act

This stand-up set is smart, genuinely funny, and emotionally educational. DeRay Davis presents his humor and his opinions on current events and how they effect America (and even what else could be done) without an offended attitude. Truly, truly funny, and touching and honest at the same time. DeRay is a class act, celebrating where he's from, embracing where he is, and welcoming anyone who will listen to join him in search of possibilities. He actually succeeds in building bridges where the fear of racism and violence has left so many people in our culture frozen and unsure of what to think or say (Including myself, a white woman from an upper middle class upbringing, who's never lived in a place like Uptown Chicago) Yes... all this, I got from laughing at a man yelling about Harambe and mass shootings. The man knows what he's doing, and he's very good at it. Bravo, Netflix. Bravo, DeRay. If you dislike profanity, be warned there's plenty of it. But watch it anyway, if you can.

Too Self-Conscious

His impression of Terrence Howard lands. Because it is personal. Otherwise he does not seem comfortable. He is out of his comfort zone. He is an actor, not a comedian. He acts like he is a comedian but he is not a comedian. He doesn't know what is funny. An annoying performance using scare tactics, saying the N* word every other sentence.

Amazing

Only 9 stars because there's a bit too much profanity for my taste, but rest assured every bit is poignant and hilarious. Where so many are quick to blame everyone else, he reminds us that we're all partly responsible for the tragedies in life. Definitely a must watch, in my opinion. I hope he releases more specials in the future, because I'd really like to see where he goes next!
