Not a love story or a thriller

Anugraheethan Antony - the most awaited film of 2020 which turns out not according to the type, you expected it to be.

Not a love story or a thriller, with an unexpected start which conveys the main element.

The film packs in some 'great music and good comedies'.

The storyline is not actually everyone's cup of tea.

Overall it is a decent watchable feel good movie with an inspirational conclusion.

Kudos to Prince Joy on his debut film.

A heartwarming one-time watch!

One of the sleeper hits amongst the handful of theatre releases this corona season, Anugraheethan Antony is a heartwarming one-time watch that will leave you with a smile on your face.

Sunny Wayne stars as the the eponymous 'Antony', a carefree young studio proprietor who enjoys life in a sleepy village amongst his friends and wisecracking dad, played by a terrific Siddique.

There, he has a chance encounter with an aspiring artist Sanjana, played by girl-next-door Gouri G Kishan, who most Malayalees are smitten with after her eyecatching performance in 96.

Peppered with soul-stirring music (the chartbuster 'Kamini' is my favorite song this year), a picturesque setting and stunning camera work, Anugraheethan is a breeze to watch even though the script lacks depth in many places.

Sunny Wayne's limited acting chops is a major drawback, while Gouri G Kishan has very few scenes to make an impact. Manikandan K Achari, Suraj Venjaramoodu and Jaffer Idukki shine in their limited roles and it is the supporting cast that renders a lot of the authenticity and rustic simplicity that makes this movie appealing.

Despite its shortcomings, Anugraheethan has its heart in the right place and alongwith a unique narrative style and aesthetics, is a definite one-time watch.

Over use of slo-mo was irritating. Felt some lag throughout the movie. Comedy scenes were really good. Acting was cringe sometimes.

A Decent movie

The movie starts with the character introduction of Antony (Sunny Wayne) a lazy youth who lives with his father (Siddique) who bought two dogs saying that the dogs are much better than his son. The movie then just goes like any other movie as the protagonist's life with his friends enjoyment just like that. Antony then falls in love with Sanjana (Gouri) whom he meets very accidentally and the rest of the movie says how his life changes after that.

The movie had a decent theme and also it had a conclusion to say, but after seeing the first scene itself we can just imagine the story, the editing team could have just cut down some scenes from the beginning and that could have made the movie much more engaging and also such movies doesn't require a slow pace.

Overall it is a decent film to watch out with families.

One time watchable good movie.one thing positive about sunny wayne movies is- you can always watch it with your family and kids. The movie has a super song-though an emotional movie-comedy is also there attimes-shows the value of family n loved ones in our life.

It's just a below average movie. The theme was experimental but it fails pathetically. Too much cliche emotional scenes and also the movie was lagging. Emotional scenes has been performed pathetically by Sunny Wayne.

The dog portion of the movie was superb. And the movie captures the whole beauty of the actress which was so good.

I like this movie very much. Good cinematography, good acting,. The songs of this movie is superb and trending. I think sunnywane acting is only a average performance. A good drama movie romance is very less in this movie. Its a good family movie to watch. Actors in this movie make a good performance. The songs in this movie is very excellent. The BGM is also good And the climax of the movie is very dramatic. I thing couples will like this movie very much. A good movie to watch.

The movie tries too hard to make you cry. But you won't.

They tried to insert something new on top of a cliche stupid story. Its not successful. You never root for the protagonist because he is a terrible person and cruel to animals.

There's a confusing plot line involving a dog running around.

It is a flow of some watery wavy emotions rather than mystry,thriller or all the commercial fan base elements!

Surely, If you enquire for logics, or any kind of satisfied deep knowledge from this movie it may give you disappoinment. It is for audience who love cinema as an art, who seek emotions, who love magics, Who understand life!

As an industry, if you can work well without a strong solid story and still give an intensity to the audience is not a silly matter! Lot more fancies, lot more out of the box! Let the movie be an art not science,maths or any police station! These kinds of movies too be appreciated so that, the beautiness of story telling can be achieved atmost extreme point!

I loved it because it never did any cliches! It took me from start to end! Anugraheethan anthony is a flow, it is a beautiful travel! With nature,men and two beautiful dogs!

Pointless and boring

There is nothing technically too bad and acting was ok for most part as well; but there is nothing of a story here !

I mean there are a few disconnected scenes that ok for a short film on their own ( would not be great, just ok) but together in the film, it just makes it a snooze fest!

Glad I didn't watch it at Theatre, one great thing about OTT is the fast forward button ! ( You cannot watch this movie otherwise )

Anugraheethan Antony Review: Sunny Wayne's heartwarming entertainer

'Anugraheethan Antony' starts off intriguingly with an accident scene, the visuals of which are not shown. Though the sounds of vehicles passing by and honking horns, we get to know that something drastic has happened. Someone has passed away and it takes us back when the revelation is made. So the first 10 minutes is arresting and we are left guessing as to what follows next. From there, the narrative travels back and forth following the protagonist Antony's story.

Sunny Wayne as Antony is a loafer who spends his time hanging around with friends, much to the disappointment of his father, a retired school teacher. After his mother's passing away, Antony is pampered by his father and his aunt's loving family, who live next-door. To teach him about the worth of faithfulness, his father buys a couple of pet dogs and takes care of them like his own kids. Antony can't stand the dogs and is always rude to them. The dogs later play a major part in his life. Antony also comes across a girl named Sanjana. After some regular boy-meets-girl and trying-to-woo-her sequences, occurs the unexpected. It is somewhat a bumpy ride from there but lands on an impactful emotional ending.

But over the course of the next 120-minutes of Prince Joy's directorial debut, Antony, along with his near and dear in the living world, come to terms with the inevitability of death and accept the eventuality. This journey isn't without its pitfalls. But, all's well that ends well, and as the end credits start to roll, I couldn't help but wonder if when the time comes for people close to me, or even me, to kick the bucket... will we be as blessed as Antony? Let's hope all of us are Anugraheethans indeed.

The movie is not as we all expected

I had very high expectation about this movie. The movie was suppose to be romantic and all . But instead of romance this movie is kinda like tragic.

If you are looking for romance or comady this is not it. This movie is just a total time waste.

I intended to write some of the thoughts regarding this movie. It was an amazing movie and has surely drenched eyes for those who thinks about their unfulfilled love even after years passed. No words to say about the songs which was so popular even before movie was released. The movie somehow routes to the heart of such people and make it feels that something still balance in our hearts to be fulfilled. Sunny waine and Gauri Kishan the main starring had done their parts as nicely and all the characters as well.

I personally love Sunny Wayne. But this story line had no dept to see it, it was shallow and a total waste of time. Unnecessary inputs and scenes are added. The actress's brother is deceased, but that character has no connection to the story or to the main character.

A total waste of time.
