I have seen this fil because I'm learning German and also I am an Iranian and the story is in Iran. Production is good. generally the has the global standards for all sections but script. a biggest mistake is that the Iranian girl marry to boy from Germany. In Iran this is Impossible to marry with a boy without girl's fathers permission. and the second mistake in this part is that after this marriage she has another fiancee. when a girl marry can not easy marry again (after divorce i mean). generaly its an intertainment movie.

Eine komische scenario über den heutigen Iran und seinen Menschen

In the negative sense, that is. So, with their lack of quality in fact. But first things first: "Liebe auf Persisch", which means "Love Persian style", is a German, mostly German-language television film from 2018, so not a really new or old film. This went also by the working title "Grüß Gott, Persien", which is probably even worse than the one they actually picked in the end. The director of these 1.5 hours is Florian Baxmeyer and I find it pretty sad to see how he started his career as an oscar nominee even and now he is down to making movies like this one here. Then again, the one who is definitely more to blame than Baxmeyer for the outcome here is writer Sebastian Orlac. The screenplay is a disaster, but I am not surprised looking at how this happened frequently to Orlac with other projects as well. They even mention here on the imdb page that this film is the first German small screen release directed in Iran and also that the soundtrack is Iranian music, but honestly, if I was Iranian, then I would be pretty ashamed how my country is and how my people are depicted in here. I am not just talking about the idea that we find out there was a scam going on and as a German citizen in Iran you have to fear immediately to be stripped off your money. I am also talking about the really embarrassing interactions between the characters here and the story as a whole. It is a complete mess. As for the cast, with the pretty limited Felix Klare in the lead I am not surprised it turned out the way it did. Mona Pirzad isn't any better. She looks fairly attractive here and there, but if we look at her range and versatility, she is as lost as Klare, so it did not feel too obvious because the leading actor and actress were equally bad. Pirzad struggled even more though because she had the more emotional scenes and moments during which she came really short. The most cringeworthy sequence between the two is pretty early on already when they are in the car together and right before that. These plays on words are a mess during the entire film, but especially there when Klare says something that Pirzad misunderstood (or their characters) and he responds with something like "never mind". Or the whole idea about the two getting married. Such a mess honestly. There was only one purpose to it, namely depict the two as a couple, which of course they would be anyway at the end. Clear as Kloßbrühe as we ay here in Germany. And don't even get me started about another verbal joke, namely when she is talking about Germans having "the longest" and in a playful manner this was a reference to German language, but of course they wanted everybody in the audience to wonder if they were talking about the male genital.

Then there is this scene with the kids eager to find something out about Germany and how she is so unhappy about what he tells them. Then there is the oh so dramatic happy ending when she and her gang run to the airport to stop him because he is obviously the right one for her. Then there is the "valid" explanation why she participated in that scam because after all, she is just a good honorable person and had to do so to be allowed to keep teachung and actually help other people. The cringe is real. Also with the entire stiffness how the mal central character is depicted. A truly cringeworthy film on so many occasions, but then again there was a 99% chance that this turn out utter failure because of ARD Degeto in charge of producing here. The truly shameful stuff is not that they made this movie. Or that this movie will be shown at least five times a year for the next decade here on German television. The real disgusting thing here is that the German people (almost everybody!) is forced to pay each and every month a double-digit amount for these films to be made. And if they refuse to, then they are taken to court. Enough said. Of course, they also included some political propaganda here as well. After all, it is ARD. The most blatant moment of this was when there is a brief conversation between the two protagonists about foreigners and the male protagonist now realizes that he is in exactly that spot that he criticized before that. So they also depicted him as a bit of a racist. Or at least as a man with prejudice. They could not be too obvious here because otherwise it would have gone against the idea that we should like him and want him to be an actual couple with the female protagonist. The way how the latter is depicted also shows easily again that this film is mostly directed at females. The stunning, charming fighter woman is the one who changes the man for the better. Let's again forget for a moment that she poses as a scam artist here, shall we. A highly manipulative movie. Luckily, it is all executed in such a clumsy manner that it is extremely easy to see through all that. And finally, another story, maybe the second key story, where the movie came really short is the one involving the male protagonist's father. Okay, he has disappeared in Iran. But boom, right when the son is there to find him, daddy shows up at home again, but the son does not return immediately either. He stays there to find out about some of the secret his dad had there in this country far far away. Very realistic. And what else is in store? Oh yes, daddy returns to Iran eventually with his son and the latter finds out he has a half-brother. Yeah right. Keep throwing more very emotional, life-changing events and developments at us. Just screw realism altogether, will you. It's pretty sad to see an established and very experienced actor like Halmer (the dad) to act in garbage films like this and portray characters with garbage story lines the way he does here. Then again, nobody forced him to accept the role, so my sympathy is somewhat limited. Same is true about all the other cast members, many of them Iranian of course and I wonder how much Degeto paid them to appear in this film. I have a feeling the money ended up in other people's bags, namely those that deserve it even less than than actors with virtually no talent. I'm sure you get what I mean. Who I mean. No matter what perspective you take here, this movie is an abomination of the worst kind. Highly, highly not recommended.
