I would imagine that most of the negative reviews on here didn't make it too far into the series. I have to admit, for the first few episodes I found Asta's screaming a little overbearing. However with that being said, I am very glad I continued to give the show a chance, as I have found that either his yelling to calm down, or the greatness of the rest of the show has outbalanced it for me. Either way I have found the show to be very enjoyable and worth a watch.

At first the show was slow and astas screaming would he obnoxious but give this show time..let it grow and i promise you, you will love the show
  • I would not listen to the people who say this series is a copy of Naruto. Cliches are everything in Anime. The main character is either the loud goofball who is bad but becomes good, or the quiet insanely talented one. A lot of animes are based of off this but the ones that pull it off well are the really good animes(hence naruto). This series is addicting so far and I look forward to the rest of the episodes!!!!
  • It took me a while to like this show; at first it was my last result for entertainment when nothing else was on. But eventually I got hooked. It seems like a derivative cookie-cutter anime, but it eventually takes the time to do things quite differently compared to other shows like it. This makes it feel like a fresh new, addictive series. Great for binge watching!

A promising show that has pontential to grow into a overall masterpiece I recommend you give it a watch.
  • I wonder why its rating is so low. It should be 8.5 plus. Its not a copy of Naruto. Based on very different theme ie magic, a world where magic is everything and a guy named asta has none and all he has is his hard work towards achieving his goal.
  • Amazing you definitely have to give it a chance. watch about 20 episodes I promise the main does def get stronger yeah. its great love the teamwork if you like seven deadly sins you'll love this. and akame ga kill. if you like the teamwork and funny aspects not so much violence and blood. give it a chance would recommend 100 percent. :)

OK, so there is a lot of hate towards this series, because a couple of idiots keeps saying its a copy of Naruto etc etc etc, people forget that a lot of series that became famous such as Bleach, was inspired by a few old school classics such as Yuyu Hakusho ( same creator of Hunter x Hunter) , another thing you cant talk bad about the anime ( compromising a whole franchise) without reading the manga, although the this series has clichés ( which is a normal thing in this genre) the story is amazing, the manga is fast paced , no BS involved, and amazing characters, and fights, the anime will start picking up that pace eventually and if people start experiencing instead of listening to a bunch of critics wanna be idiots this series will no doubt become one of the BIG 3 with My hero academia and One Piece , it is way more promising than Boruto.

    Fun
I like the plot and I like the protagonist, Asta. I especially admire his determination to push his limits and be better, training hard and never giving up.

There are, however, a few things bothering me:

***in dialogues (or narration) they often point out things that were already pretty obvious from whatever was happening and then keep on discussing it for no reason

***battle scenes are often interrupted by people talking, explaining what they were doing, chatting etc, and the attackers don't seem to mind and don't attack until the other guys are done talking (most of the time) which is a bit annoying

I still recommend it though. Ignoring all of the above problems kind of grows on you. It's pretty charming and I do like the charachters and their development. I do hope there will be season 2.
  • The story is great, can enjoy the similar fun as in naruto. Only disappointment is that, in every episode the recap is taking lot of time, almost 10 mins is wasted for recap opening song and ending song. Finished 170 episodes, waiting for the next. It is the effort of a boy who born without any magic in a world where most of the people have magic. And even luck and fate is not with him. He gets strong with only his own will power and effort.

Honestly, I was about to drop it after the first ten episodes. The main character was annoyign and too loud (very loud!!) and the story was boring and it presented nothing that you haven't seen before. However, it got better and the action scenes got more interesting as well as the side stories and the small cases that spiced up the main plot. Also, you get used to the boy's screaming.
  • This is one of the best shonen, have an incredible history,it is so original and have a good fights
  • Warning: Spoilers
The main character wants to be the magic king in the world of magic. Now, that's a great goal to make in an anime. It teaches people that you can achieve something you want to be like My Hero Academia does. However, the anime is kind of tedious in my opinion. There aren't a lot of suspense and tension. The storyline is also common in a lot of animes.

Not going to lie the show had a rough start, but now it's one of the best. Give it a try and you won't regret it
  • 65 episodes in and truly impressed by the layers of development, despite minor artistic critiques. Seemingly "side characters" keep gaining complex and relatable backstory. Additionally, there's some hierarchy for each character, concerning loyalty to family, country, friends, ideals, etc. The loyalty calculus for each character is measured appropriately for each scene.

I'm continually impressed by how each character continues to develop on an ethically relatable line. Many characters start from their perspective of "nothing", despite the relative differences. Caste social dynamics are explored appropriately.

Perhaps the most impressive dynamic is the ethical spectrum we explore. What is good? Which ethical paradigm is most charismatic? When you factor in families, friends, institutional ties, and varying ethical paradigms, the complexity of character development is truly impressive. Where can this character grow? Do they care to grow in this direction?

I look forward to rewatching this series with my children when they are of age. So many good lessons to share. The world is not perfect, but there are ideals we can follow to make it better.

This anime is best to watch it contains all emotions and action...worth watching
  • Really funny anime, no joke.. for those who like comedy and action anime this is one of them.. I'm really looking for more episodes :) Basically is 2 "brothers" who are adopted by a church, and one has potential to be a great magician, when the other is a really dumb person and cant do magic at all.. until.. and then you could watch and see that its a really good Anime. Give it a shot, its getting way better than Boruto.. in my view..

This anime is just soooo good! I can't understand why people complain so much about it and yet continue watching it. If you like Naruto, one piece, my hero academia etc. then this is surely going to impress you. It is very entertaining and full of action. Go and enjoy it!
  • Plot makes complete sense, power creep???non existant, hard magic rules that progress properly no OP SASUNO to be seen, people die for good reasons, voice acting is EXTREMELY memorable, the fight choreography is BEAUTY STUNNING seeing Julius fight made me literally hold my breath(i am not a weeaboo at all i love horror movies and good anime) after being stuck with D ranked anime this the S ranked anime that we are being blessed with
  • That's it Enemy its too strong > start think about friends, relationship > get a power > win Gonna lose > see a friends gonna die > i cant leave > i have to do something >get a miracle

One of the best anime ever! Asta and yami are perfectly drowned
  • rashidmahar-3805021 February 2022
This show does things well, but unfortunately falls into a trap of having arcs that are straight up nonsensical at best.

For example, the devil-worshippers arc. Yeah I get it was filler, but there's no excuse to have something this convoluted where things constantly don't make sense.

Horrible! A bunch of 30,40 something acting like they're 15s super tryhards. The whole plot can be shortened in 20-30 hours instead of 65. Episode sumaary and intro and outro taking 4+ mins out of every episode - outros are sometimes of good quality but quite rare. Intentionally written to confuse viewers with a simple storyline!
