I am quite critical when it comes with 3D because even the best studios lately seem to copy each other designs and ideas. So when the movie started and I realized just how tiny the budget for this had had to be, I was ready to quit in less than 5 minutes. But then, surprise, I stayed hooked till the end. Oh of course, this obviously targets a very young audience so we get all the cliches possible when it comes with subjects like dogs VS cats or human VS animals. All the reasons to wonder if a little kid is supposed to be that stupid and ignore so many plot holes or stomach so many boring dialogues. I think what kept me wanting to see how things were going to evolve, were all these little details that prove there is a team of people having fun behind the production. There are things that are surprisingly well done, rendered or developed here and there, events I couldn't predict among the sheer number of annoying cliches. Nothing revolutionary, but it was enough to keep me interested. I hope I'll see these animators get more funds in the future because there are moments where Turbocat in particular, was way more expressive than a lot of characters Disney recently animated.
  • This will definitely keep the kids entertained. Decent paced storyline and while not the best quality animation it's more than satisfactory. Take off your serious head for 90 minutes and watch with the kids.
  • I was expecting more from this animation. Very Saturday morning appropriate grade school dialogue, humor & script. Basic premise is that townsfolk don't like cats, dogs, rabbits & fish, and as to why no real explanation. Main plot is the town's sheriffs main activity is chasing them down & locking them up. Second plot element was dog sent into space, but apparently there's a malfunction so he's frozen (dumb; bad science). Next he mysteriously arrives in said town in his capsule 50 years later. Third plot element is our cat acts like a cat toward everyone (dog included), but becomes a better cat later on. Final made-up science plot is capsule contains powerful element (hyper-lithium) that when made into a radiation beam changes things. Animation was slightly better than average with 3-D figures w/natural movement, but downside is the figures lacked detail - very plastic toy like.
  • The voice audio in this film is awful, sometimes it will sound fine then randomly the characters will start sounding muffled, I dont know how something like that happens. The animation is not very good but and the humor is basically non existent. I'll admit this is obviously for very young children, but I cant imagine someone over 3 enjoying this, and even then I think it'd be hard for a 3 year old to like this. It's boring and the animation is bland, I guess it could keep your kids busy for an hour and 30 minutes, but I think kids deserve something a little better than this

    Meh
Seems low effort. All the random slapstick... should have been a direct to Netflix kids movie.
  • This film is full of cliches and recycled ideas. The animation is decent, but plot and music lack inspiration or meaning. I had average expectations going in, with the imdb showing a rating of 7.1 out of 10. About 2 minutes in, I could not figure out how it got a rating that high. It showed 894 star ratings averaging 7.1. Out of the 8 written reviews, at least 3 are 10 stars and written by bots! This should have never made it to redbox! My 5 year old liked it, but I repeatedly resisted the urge to turn it off. The funnest thing about this show was commenting with my teenagers on the painfully lackluster storyline, the voluminous cliches and borrowed tropes, and the inconsistent and random background music. I think a fairer rating would actually be 2 to 3 out of 10 stars, because I've seen worse, but I gave it one star to bring the artificial high lower.
  • A very fun, safe, entertaining movie. Kids will love it!
  • Having seen over 125 films this year I honestly think this must be the worst of them and I love animation films.

The plot and story are flimsy at best and the characters lack virtually any empathy.

I am shocked this was even made and released,I can't see how anyone ever thought this was a good idea.
  • I don't know how some audio got through the films quality control (if there even was someone checking for quality which there obviously wasn't) it makes it unbearable to hear normal audio quality then for it to go to a muffled mess that hurts my ears. Even when the audio is clear the dialogue is so stiff and lifeless I wish I couldn't hear it. Don't get me wrong the actors did the best they could have with this horrid script but I don't think anybody really cared if the movie was good or not seeing as audio is just muffled and lines sound as if a dude slammed his head on a keyboard, and tried to make a story based on the gibberish he saw.
  • Judging this from budget point of view this is a must watch, story is indeed full of cliches but its funny and entertaining. Kids will like it for sure. Me and my wife liked it and we are in our 30's (we really enjoy anumated movies). Dont have Pixar expectations and you will enjoy it.

This film cured my depression. However it resulted in my marriage falling apart and she took the kids but I don't care because she let me keep this films dvd. It loses a mark because I lost my job because I was watching this film too much
  • A great little gem of a movie, we all really enjoyed the story, characters and the end. Star dog and Turbo cat are true heroes and just make you full in love with them. Worth watching 100%
