Janella Salvador stated in an interview that she observed how normal Filipinos talk and act to prepare for her role.
Trisha's character shows similarity to Kat Galang a.k.a. The Tassel Girl who went viral around 2017. Kat Galang wore tassel earrings, a bandana from time to time and she also sang an emotional cover of "Hinahanap ng Puso". Although not mentioned in any interview, this might be Laxamana's inspiration to Trisha's character.
Director Laxamana also considered Elmo Magalona as Karter but he wanted to try someone new for Janella. He also added that Jameson Blake's cool and shy personality fits the role perfectly.
The movie includes two songs from Ian Penn, Water from the Creek and Only One.
Trisha's favorite rap song, Hinahanap ng Puso, was originally composed by Aristotle Pollisco, popularly known as Gloc-9. The song appeared in his debut album G9 wayback 2003.
