Brian Cox claimed that playing Logan Roy resulted in the first time of his career in which everyone in public recognizes him on both name and face.

Brian Cox was the first to suggest to make Logan Scottish (originally Logan was Québécois), but was turned down. He was later informed late into Season 1 filming that Logan was changed to be Scottish from Brian Cox's own hometown of Dundee.

Director Adam McKay successfully advocated for shooting the series on 35mm film instead of digitally to give a more classical look to a saga of old money.
