  • Just watched this when CBS reran it just now. Carol talks to various celebs, many of whom grew up watching it and then there are those who were on the show with her like her regulars Vicki Lawrence and Lyle Waggoner and guests like Bernadette Peters, Steve Martin, and Steve Lawrence. Many of the familiar highlighter sketches were shown: "Went with the Wind" with Carol's curtain dress, "The Dentist" with Tim Conway injecting himself accidentally with patient Harvey Korman failing to stifle laughter, and then there's that "Family" sketch with Conway telling about Siamese elephants that no one in the cast knew was coming with Vicki as Mama letting out a profanity to a rare Tim break-up! The show was full of highlights and the best surprise was when Harry Connick Jr. showed up and mentioned he was born on the same day "The Carol Burnett Show" debuted: September 11, 1967. He helped close the show by singing with Carol the show's theme. Both the late Korman and "under the weather" Conway were missed but this was quite a fine nostalgic two hours of Carol and her friends reminiscing about their time on or watching the show. P.S. I also liked when costume designer Bob Mackie showed up and talked about some of his designs to Carol.
