| So so
Having grown up watching the original series, it was difficult not to draw comparisons between the two. I was excited that a new series was coming but was dismayed when the first animation pictures were released. I decided to give it a try, anyway.

For starters, the storylines are actually pretty decent and even funny. While there are some scenes that are beautiful or interesting to look at, I do not care for this style of animation. Some of the redesigns of beloved characters are also disappointing. The theme song and transformation sequence was a huge let down. The original always gets me pumped but the new version is rather bland.

Adora and many of the other characters are teenagers, which can be both fun and annoying to watch. One of my favorite characters from the original series is one of the more irritating characters to watch, now.

Despite all the negatives, the show still holds my interest. While it's not at the top of my list, I still plan on watching every now & again.
