Fan's of '70s erotic director David Hamilton, with his memorable soft-focus studies of underage-looking girls, will want to check out Franck Vicomte's winning Dorcel movie spotlighting five teens at boarding school and their sexual awakening. It's romantic in the Dorcel style, but directed with an innocence and charm usually lacking in the label's typical BDSM and misogynistic features.
Lea Guerlin narrates the story, with snippets of both French and English dialog spoken by the multi-national Euro cast (director Vicomte is shown directing them in English in the "Making of" featurette on the DVD), which unfolds entirely as sex vignettes.
Gina Gerson, the most recognizable lady in the young cast, is the sexual instigator, getting her lovely classmates warmed up with lesbian and anal sex, prior to some more intense group-sex with studs on the faculty or camping nearby. With beauties like the ever-smiling Candee Licious in the cast, a sense of openness and sexual freedom is maintained, whether scenes are sensual or move into the more explicit d.p. and ass-pounding positions.
Dorcel provides the musical score, very effective in building and sustaining a romantic mood, with his trademark minor key themes keeping things from getting too syrupy. It proves to be a welcome and pleasant variation on the jail-bait theme that Dorcel is known for from its hard-edged Russian Institute series.
