Set in the early 80s, K. G. F. - the first chapter centers the protagonist who leads a battle against oppressors in Kolar Gold Fields.
The major part of the movie was shot on the cyanide hills. The gold mining process at the KGF mines has generated about 32 million tons of tailings called Cyanide Dumps. These dumps are the accumulation of the slurry waste and residue that was piped out of the mills, after the gold was extracted from the ore. The residue slowly hardened over time and formed huge hills around all the mines in KGF of soft fine dust. They were known as the Cyanide Dumps because of the cyanide content that was used in the process of gold extraction.
In a fight, it's not the one who throws the first punch, but who falls first that counts!
For the Hindi dubbed version, an item song "Gali Gali" has been shot with a different actress with entirely different music and lyrics as compared to the Kannada original and other dubbed versions.
