Nadja Engel surprisingly survives a fall, apparently from her high skyscraper balcony, and is hospitalized with amnesia. She was near suicidal since the loss of a young child, but autopsy shows marks from a struggle. Her ship cargo insurance agency paid out suspiciously high percentages, notably in cases handled by executive Thies Koning, who may need to cover up fraud, indeed forged an alibi alibi. Nadja's husband Stefan Engel visited a brothel after discovering her adultery, suddenly makes an improbably confession about a second crime, which isn't verified at all, on the contrary.

The battered corpse of Patrick "Paddel" Borowski MD is found on a market square in Hamburg. His three buddies, Jörg Kittel, Andy Jansen and Hans Peter "HP" Himmelreich, also dressed in flamingo costumes for his bachelor party in the Kiez quarter, allegedly can't remember losing him, let alone the murder. Borowskis cellphone pictures aren't helpful, but blood on his costume indicates a fight. Kittel merely admits a 'silly conflict' with the former medical practice partner. Reconstrcting the night, SOKO cops find the quartet won lots of cash in a casino, which is gone. A homeless beggar found outside actually stalked them on the fatal night, and lost everything after the death of his wife of Paddel's operation table.

At the club feast for his installation as new champion-shot 'club king' of Jork, Harald Proske is fatally shot -in Oskar's presence- with a weapon of his own class's caliber from behind a curtain veiling the killer and his retreat. Harald owned a supermarket chain and planned a Jork subsidiary, probably fatal for local shopkeepers like baker Dietmar Röper, who hoped his daughter Yvonne would succeed him with boyfriend Timo Fenne who discovered she had an affair with Harald, ignoring he still had many flirts. SOKO learns about a ten years old family feud between Röpers and Proskes. Already year-long separated fresh widow Carola Proske would have had no inheritance if he had time to divorce her. Jan observes her making suspicious payments as regularly before to a man fitting a hit-man's photograph, yet gets a surprising explanation. Timo's hose is searched, yielding ammunition and the possible murder weapon.
