  • I saw this on YouTube broken up in 14 pieces. So I'm not sure if I saw the entire film, but it felt whole to me. It was the most suspenseful film I've seen in a long time... that reminded me a lot of Kindergarten Cop. The boys sexuality wasnt just a lure to be trendy but was a functional part of the story line. From what I saw, it was less about coming to age but coming to terms to lifes unexpected twists. A boy loses his mother to painkillers - yet shes alive; hes court ordered to live with his uncle whom he feels never cared about his sister. Theres the mother sho comes to terms with being dead weight even though she loves her son and desperately wants to be there for him. Theres the aunt who seems to be "the other woman" but ends up being a guarded compassionate cop. Vouillemin (cop/aunt) is amazing in this film, as she quickly changes from being overbearing, hopeful, frustrated, remorseful, and mother all in one film (I'm sure I'm forgetting other emotions). Even Lukas' parents are amazing. They provided this social expectation of being outgoing and fitting into the heteronormative society to the brink of the father being homophobic and the mother saying "you're good" pacifying his concerns of being a horrible man. French films to me are art and the actors are quintessential caucasian angst at it's best.

  • I have been trying to watch this but cant find it. Can some link it for me.
  • Its like they stripped away everything problematic from the other versions and made it a relationship I could actually root for. Love the characters, the suspense, the camera shots, and story. I followed along intensely and ended up binge watching the clips I could find. Please post the episodes somewhere !!! I'd but it!!!
