Mark Wahlberg is inevitably widely recognized as one of the most talented actors in all of Hollywood’s entertainment industry. From his immaculate acting skills to his absolutely breathtaking physique, the 52-year-old actor continues to charm his fans from all across the globe to the core. But many years before he attained this respectable feat, Wahlberg wasn’t as confident as he is now.
Mark Wahlberg in Father Stu.
In fact, the Ted star wasn’t so sure of his own talent in the acting field when he was an aspiring actor, only just starting out. And the movie taking him out of this zone, making him fearless, and inspiring him to become a “real actor” was the most unexpected one (or perhaps expected one?): His R-rated critically commended comedy-drama from 1997, Boogie Nights.

Timothée Chalamet’s swoon-worthy looks and irresistible charm have made him the subject of many people’s attraction. Let’s just say, fans aren’t the only ones gushing over Chalamet. Actors and actresses within the industry are also under the Chalamet effect, in which one develops a major crush on the New York-born actor. Some have even admitted to this publicly.

Mark Wahlberg’s recent based-on-a-true-story movie Arthur the King has been gaining massive fan approval as of late. The film was adapted from the real-life events of Swedish athlete Mikael Lindnord, as he shared in his 2016 memoir Arthur: The Dog Who Crossed the Jungle to Find a Home. However, the movie’s box office numbers as of this writing aren’t all too great.
Arthur the King (2024)
The reason behind such a downfall with its current-standing revenue isn’t like the film wasn’t worthy of having tremendous box office numbers, no. In fact, if anything, the real canine story was a masterpiece whose true potential was greatly undermined at global box offices, and the recent revelations about the real story only further prove this point.

Opening in theaters today, a new film set in the world late-night television answers the burning question: Could a late-night show beat Johnny Carson in the ratings if it its surprise guest turned out to be Satan?
Late Night with The Devil is an independent film, as many horror movies are, made in Australia, with mostly unknown Australian actors; but its look and many of its characters will be familiar to anyone in America who has watched late-night TV, especially during the Carson-dominant era of the 1970’s.
This is far from the first time the genre of late night has inspired fictionalized versions of itself in the movies or in other quarters of television. There are many memorable entries in this subsection of entertainment, headed in TV certainly by one of the greatest comedies of all time, The Larry Sanders Show, and in films by Martin Scorsese’s most underrated movie,...

In recent years, Mark Wahlberg has done projects that are aimed at family audiences. While the actor has done his fair share of intense and bold movies, his recent ventures like Uncharted, Father Stu, and The Family Plan show his intention to attract a larger audience. Wahlberg is continuing this trend with another true-story-inspired film Arthur the King.

Let me state right out that I am a sucker for dog movies. I still can’t get over My Dog Skip. I learned valuable lifelong lessons from Old Yeller. I consider Lassie a personal friend. I took selfies at the Oscar nominees luncheon with Messi, the French border collie I was pushing for Best Supporting Actor from Anatomy of a Fall. So yes, I am probably the right audience for the latest in the genre, Arthur the King, and its title star.
However, for about the first 55 minutes or so, Arthur the King is hardly about the dog at all, but rather the extreme physical competition of adventure racing, most particularly the 2018 World Championship taking place in the Dominican Republic. The focus is on frustrated competitor Michael Light (Mark Wahlberg), who never never won the big prize and is determined not to give up. This time he has put...

Exclusive: Altitude Media Group has boarded a documentary shot entirely inside the Grand Theft Auto video game world.
Grand Theft Hamlet will follow the story of out-of-work theater actors Sam Crane and Mark Oosterveen, who had the idea to stage a full production of Shakespeare’s ‘Hamlet’ within Grand Theft Auto 5 during the dull days of the third Covid-19 lockdown in the UK three years ago.
Indie studio Altitude has taken worldwide rights after striking a deal for the “hilarious and profoundly moving” film, which Crane and Pinny Grylls wrote and directed. The doc gets its worldwide premiere at SXSW on Sunday (March 10) and will get a European premiere at Cph:dox.
“We are extremely proud and excited to be partnering with Pinny, Sam and the whole team on Grand Theft Hamlet and cannot wait for audiences to experience this singular and masterful piece of machinima filmmaking,” said Altitude Film Sales Managing Director Mike Runagall.

Mark Wahlberg hasn't had a movie in theaters in a couple of years, but he's about to stage a comeback with "Arthur the King." Hailing from Lionsgate, the true story-inspired movie centers on adventure racer Michael Light and a street dog that he befriends during a crucial moment in his life. So, can this man and his dog tale help bring Wahlberg some glory at the box office? Even though that success may be relatively understated, it's looking very much like that could be the case.
The audience-friendly flick hits theaters next weekend, where it will be opening against "The American Society of Magical Negroes" (which figures to have a muted debut). Kristen Stewart's "Love Lies Bleeding" is also expanding into more theaters, although it also figures to have a somewhat limited footprint. This is to say, "Arthur the King" will probably do the best of the weekend's newcomers,...

Mark Wahlberg is one of the most well-known and talented actors in Hollywood. While he has starred in many respected and well-known projects, the one thing he has gained a reputation for throughout the film industry is his dedication to the roles he plays. Not only emotionally and as an actor, but also physically.
Mark Wahlberg in Father Stu
Wahlberg has become known for having some of the most complex and hardcore workout routines for the roles he plays, pushing his body as much as physically possible and enjoying every second of it. Having done it so many times in the past, one would expect nothing in the world of exercise to be foreign to him. However, his most recent part in Arthur the King seems to be a new level of challenge for him.

While Timothée Chalamet’s Paul Atreides immediately knew he would love Zendaya’s Chani ‘as long as he breathes’, the actor has had quite a history when it comes to finding love in real life. The Dune star has had quite a dating history ever since he broke into the scene with films like Interstellar and Call Me By Your Name.
While Chalamet has been dating Kylie Jenner for the past few months, he was in a highly publicized relationship with The Idol star Lily-Rose Depp. The couple had reportedly met while filming Netflix’s The King and had gotten cozy as early as 2018. One of the defining moments of their courtship was a viral photo of the two making out on a yacht, which Chalamet seems to be embarrassed about.

Timothée Chalamet is by far one of the most promising young actors working in Hollywood today, after his standout performances in films like Call Me By Your Name, Little Women, and Dune. The actor has become one of the biggest stars in the film industry and after his recent performance as Duke Paul Atreides in Dune: Part Two, he is sure to become a household name worldwide. So, if you love Chalamet’s performances here are the best movies Chalamet has appeared in and just to warn you, we didn’t include Interstellar in this list because Chalamet’s role in Christopher Nolan was not that big or significant.

Dune 2 has unleashed its sandworms at the box office and is expected to take over with a massive worldwide collection. The second part of the 2021 box office hit Dune, with its A-list star cast led by Timothee Chalamet and Zendaya, has finally made its way to the cinemas.
That being said, Timothee Chalamet is well on his way to becoming one of the highest-grossing actors in Hollywood. Considering what he has been up to recently, there are no signs of him stopping any time soon. It has to be noted that his net worth doubled when he was as young as 25 years old, thanks to his Dune salary. One can only imagine how his salary for Dune 2 might have affected his net worth.

Dune 2 Star Timothee Chalamet Movies Ranked As Per Rotten Tomatoes. (Photo Credit – IMDb)
Timothee Chalamet is being lauded for his fantastic performance in Denis Villeneuve’s epic saga Dune 2. The film was released in the theatres on Friday, and it’s a visual treat for moviegoers. The film is one of the top-rated ones across various platforms, but Chalamet, over his short career span, has given several high-rated films.
Chalamet won hearts with his lively performance as Willy Wonka in last year’s Wonka. It became his career’s highest-grossing film as a leading man. But it seems Dune 2 might take away that title soon. He is essaying the character of Paul Atreides, and his ascension in this part has been remarkably shown. Scroll below for more.

There are few stars of his age who generate as much foaming at the mouth celebrity obsession as Timothée Chalamet. Ever since the one-two punch of “Lady Bird” and “Call Me By Your Name” arrived in 2017, the young actor has been the darling of social media fan accounts fawning over his signature long black hair and delicate, porcelain features. It’s made him the archetypal onscreen heartthrob of his generation and garnered him those pesky Leonardo DiCaprio comparisons that have lingered over the course of his career.
Does that online thirst translate into being a movie star? That’s a question that various outlets have tried to unpack over the course of Chalamet’s career with varying degrees of success. He certainly has the chops for it: beyond his pretty, pretty face, Chalamet has a sensitive onscreen presence that can be played straight — as in “Call Me By Your Name,...

To quote a famous lyric from the musical Hamilton, immigrants get the job done. That message seems to be getting lost in the current wave of anti-immigrant sentiment sweeping the nation, if not the world. But it receives a timely reminder in Cabrini, the new drama about Francesca Cabrini, the Catholic missionary who arrived on our shores in 1889 and eventually established enough schools, orphanages and hospitals to form a veritable charitable empire. She became the first U.S. citizen to be canonized, in 1946, 29 years after her death. (And she’s apparently still performing miracles to this day, since she’s billed as one of the film’s executive producers.)
The film arrives courtesy of Angel Studios and director Alejandro Monteverde, both responsible for last year’s surprise, controversial smash hit about child sex trafficking, Sound of Freedom. This effort will likely prove far less divisive, if also less commercial. An old-fashioned,...

It used to be said that every movie, no matter how badly it did at the box office or critically, went to heaven. Heaven, of course, meant physical media. First, it was VHS, then it was Laserdisc, then DVD, Blu-ray, and now 4K Blu-rays; every movie would get some kind of physical media release. After all, rentals and sales were important to a film’s profitability. In fact, some movies that tanked theatrically did so well on DVD that they became perennials, such as Donnie Darko or The Transporter, with the DVD sales of that movie directly influencing the studio to greenlight a sequel and give Jason Statham a legit career as an action star.
Yet, despite physical media making a comeback, it’s worth noting that some of the most popular movies in recent memory have never gotten a physical media release. And we’re not only talking about...

Lorenzo Mieli and Mario Gianani are exiting their Fremantle-owned Italian production companies.
The pair are among Italy’s most well known TV and film producers, but their exits have been confirmed, with their next moves not yet official. They may team together to launch their own indie together, reports say.
A Fremantle spokesperson said the super-indie would look to work with Mieli and Gianani “in a different structure” in the future.

Elvis Presley might have been accused of cultural appropriation more than any other singer. A famous singer from the 1960s didn’t seem to take issue with the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll taking inspiration from Black music. Of course, her perspective is not universal.
A member of a Black girl group didn’t feel Elvis Presley committed cultural appropriation
Darlene Love was a member of the Black girl group The Blossoms, which worked with Phil Spector. The Blossoms released classic tunes such as “He’s Sure the Boy I Love” and “He’s a Rebel,” both of which were incorrectly attributed to The Crystals. As a solo singer, Love became most known for a pair of Christmas recordings: the seasonal favorite “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” and the Home Alone 2 soundtrack single “All Alone on Christmas.”
During a 2018 interview with The Village Voice, Love was asked if Elvis appropriated music.

The Beatles weren’t civil rights activists, but a soul singer said the group’s success was “a civil rights breakthrough.” He wasn’t the only one to say something like that. Here’s a look at how Black singers inspired the Fab Four.
A singer said The Beatles and Elvis Presley moved helped the civil rights movement
Maxwell is a neo-soul singer known for tunes such as “Ascension (Don’t Ever Wonder),” “Sumthin’ Sumthin,” and “Lake by the Ocean.” His music doesn’t sound much like The Beatles’. However, Maxwell works in a musical idiom that paved the way for the Fab Four.
During a 2017 interview with The San Diego Union-Tribune, Maxwell discussed the issue of The Beatles and cultural appropriation. “It’s a very touchy subject,” he said. “Because it’s like it was appropriation, but there was a certain window that was opened that never would have...

Plot: The origins of young Willy Wonka (Timothée Chalamet), who arrives in a city known for its chocolate with the dream of becoming a master chocolatier.
Review: I’ll admit something – I wasn’t all that keen on watching Wonka. While I have a soft spot for Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, mainly due to Gene Wilder’s terrific performance in the lead, an origin story starring Timothee Chalamet seemed a touch too whimsical. Yet, the film inarguably has an ace up its sleeve in director Paul King, who proved with the first two Paddington films that he’s a master of so-called whimsy.
The film, which is a full-blown musical, really does cast a spell thanks mainly to the fact that Chalamet hits precisely the right note with his Willy Wonka. He’s doing Gene Wilder here, with no trace of Johnny Depp’s performance from the Tim Burton...

When adapting any great work of literature, or even one that is just mid, filmmakers and visual artists will be forced to make changes big and small for any myriad of reasons. Sometimes it is due to the economy of storytelling in a truncated form—such as the famous example of Scarlett O’Hara’s number of children shrinking from three to one in Gone with the Wind. Other times, the changes are made because the requirements of a visual medium shifts the structure of the story; like showing the massacre at Hardhome by ice zombies in Game of Thrones instead of simply reading about it in a letter. There are even times when the filmmaker wants to put a modern spin on the text. This would be how every Dracula now is a sexy rock star god.
But then, dear reader, there are times when the filmmaker or screenwriter sees...

Among the big-name Hollywood titles screening at the Red Sea Film Festival in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia is Sofia Copolla’s Venice-bowing Priscilla, starring Cailee Spaeny and Jacob Elordi, that tells the story of Priscilla Presley and her tumultuous relationship with Elvis.
Of all the high-profile attendees at the festival who many might expect to have watched the film is Red Sea jury head Baz Luhrmann, who only recently delved into similar territories with his blockbuster biographical feature Elvis, in which Austin Butler played The King.
But speaking to The Hollywood Reporter ahead of taking on jury duties at the festival, Luhrmann admitted that, despite Coppola being a “really good friend,” he still hadn’t had a chance to watch it. “I haven’t seen the film, I’ve just been so busy,” he explained. “But I’m dying to see it.”

The King of Queens wasn’t a rating juggernaut. Still, the series was popular for CBS in the late 1990s and early 2000s. The show followed the lives of a married couple, Carrie and Doug Heffernan, as they adjusted to life with Carrie’s father, Arthur Spooner, living with them. While the series focused on the trials and tribulations of married life, there was one aspect of matrimony that the show did not explore. Carrie and Doug didn’t have children during the show’s initial run. The production team opted not to give the couple children partly for syndication purposes.

Elvis Presley told us he “ain’t nothin’ but a hound dog,” but how piercing is his bite behind closed doors? Is “The King of Rock and Roll” a controlling, entitled tyrant behind the scenes? If anyone can say, it’s Priscilla Presley, the music icon’s ex-wife and Queen of Graceland. Today, Elevation Pictures is proud to present its Priscilla trailer, previewing Sofia Coppola’s stirring drama about the private lives of Elvis and Priscilla Presley.
“When teenage Priscilla Beaulieu (Cailee Spaeny) meets Elvis Presley (Jacob Elordi) at a party, the man who is already a meteoric rock-and-roll superstar becomes someone entirely unexpected in private moments: a thrilling crush, an ally in loneliness, a vulnerable best friend,” reads the film’s official synopsis. “Through Priscilla’s eyes, Sofia Coppola tells the unseen side of a great American myth in Elvis and Priscilla’s long courtship and turbulent marriage, from...

It’s always tricky to bring the lives of literary greats to the big screen. There’s a balance to be struck between the evocation of their domestic existence and their work. Irish writer Samuel Beckett is perhaps an even more difficult challenge than most since his works were largely absurdist and with a particularly strong authorial voice.
There’s some indication that writer Neil Forsyth, who has previously written TV series including Bob Servant and Guilt, is trying to avoid a straightforward biopic, largely by a device which sees Beckett have conversations with a version of himself, but nevertheless the end result feels distinctly staid and traditional. This is especially surprising given that the director is James Marsh, who has shown a nimble aptitude for embracing experimental and edgy elements in his films, including Man On Wire and The King. Dance First is the closing night movie of San.

Track by Track is a recurring feature series in which artists guide readers through every song on their latest release. Today, Anjimile takes us through their latest record, The King.
Today, Anjimile returns with The King, the follow-up to their 2020 effort Giver Taker. Taking a darker, more frustrated approach to his alternative folk, The King tackles issues of oppression, systemic violence, and forms of injustice on both a personal and societal scale.
The King showcases an angrier, less hopeful side of Anjimile. The eponymous opener establishes as much immediately, with ominous choir vocals and arpeggios that come across like a warning. The song establishes a clear mission statement, one that Anjimile continues to deliver for the rest of the album.
